i think Hetfield did the solo for Nothing Else Matters, at least in the video he does i think. and possibly the intro solo on Fade to Black? i know RTL has been mentioned before as well.
|
I think he does one of the shiplash solos, but i could be wrong (live **** has 2 solos going at the same time on whiplash so...)
|
yer it was 81
|
hetfield does outlaw torn, and then he also i believe does the slow solo in mop after the clean part and in between his and kirk's duet type thing.
yer it was 81
um you got that from the first page dident you:lol: |
id have to disagree with you on this one man, it is actually quite easy its like most the other solos kirk does.
How long have you been playing and can you play it right?
Didn't hetfield do the RtL solo. I know that he did like 2 from that album and I think that's one of them. Kirk's solos have a similar pattern and if you can do the pattern you can do all his solos. but Mustaine...
If he could solo like that I would be amazed, but no, it's Hammett.
i think Hetfield did the solo for Nothing Else Matters, at least in the video he does i think. and possibly the intro solo on Fade to Black? i know RTL has been mentioned before as well.
FTB just takes awhile |
Guys just thought I'd post before my gig later tonight. Me and my band have got 2 Metallica songs we wanna play. But because of ownly having an hour setlist we will ownly beable to play one song so Iam asking which one you'd recommend Sad But True or Holier Than Thou. HTT is such a great song to headbang to plus I love singing the backing vocals plus theres a little part after the solo were theres a little bass n drum solo. But SBT is just a classic Iam head****ed which should i choose guys!
Agreed with Vince there.
If you could take the great songs from Load, ReLoad and St.Anger, dumping the filler, and combining them into one album, most people would enjoy it, I'd say.
I really like Fuel is there anything else on Load, Reloaded thats good also? besides Fuel? |
I really like Fuel is there anything else on Load, Reloaded thats good also? besides Fuel?
The Memory Remains is my favorite from Re-Load. Na na na na na... na na na na na. Na na na na, na na, na na na... na na na na na. Love that outro. |
That song was one of the fist heavy songs I liked. I remember the video clip quiote well.
Those were the days  |

The House Jack Built Until It Sleeps King Nothing Hero Of The Day Bleeding Me The Outlaw Torn Fuel The Memory Remains Devil's Dance 5:18 The Unforgiven II Where The Wild Things Are Fixxxer (imo) Plus Garage Days was a great album too I think. |
The Memory Remains is my favorite from Re-Load.
Na na na na na... na na na na na. Na na na na, na na, na na na... na na na na na. Love that outro.
Yeah that's an awesome song. I think the lyrics are great. Metallica seems to have written them about themselves. |

if you have a really wicked rythm guitar, and your lead is awesome, then do sad but true, because there is no turning back for people in the crowd when that snare pumps the solo in. whenever i play it with my friends or band i just go freakin CRAZY! thats such a great solo, because it ties in awesomely to the rythm guitar behind it |

Here, just do neither and do The God That Failed. Not sure if your bassist can handle it though. |
oh yes, good song. although none of these are songs i would play if i could only cover one metallica song.
|
The solos thing. On my Justice for All cd it says hetfield did to Live is to die. so he does solos and on RtL he does one in Creeping Death and Part of Call of the Ktulu and on Puppets he does the first one in Puppets and one more and in KEA he didn't do any.

Random, probably stupid Question: What happened with Cliff and that car crash. WHo was driving, was it Mustaine?
I coulda sworn it was him, and thats why they kicked him outta the band. But my friend says im wrong so i leave it to you guys NP: Hit The Lights |

go here and vote for MetallicA!!! |

The driver hit some ice and crashed, throwing Cliff out of the window. Supposedly Cliff was still alive after the crash but the crane lifting the bus off him slipped and it killed him. Just think, if Kirk would've won Cliff's bed in cards then he'd still be alive. But there'd be no Hammett. |
It's so sad:( That idiot driver.
I heard that they were all standing out there in the cold and the driver was trying to pull cliffs blanket away from him. Then James flipped out and went off on him |
Yeah It's true. Cliff was one of James' best friends, it must've been hard on him.

I've heard they were like brothers

Oh my god guys what a gig so much energy from the crowd it was nerve racking. We played In a **** pub in are local area were all the goths, skaters, Metalheads go to see underground bands. We were on at 6pm supporting a signed band so we thought we'd light a fire under the crowds asse's and really get them going. My band Remmus is in the gentre of hard rock I'd say but we have being writting alot heavy tunes recently and laid into some of them. We played 2 Metallica covers because when we first got together thats all we played Metallica, RATM, Megadeth, Sabbath. First was 'Waste My hate,. Great song from Load I bloody gave it stakes hammering my strings to s@it. After we finished that the crowd were in love shouting **** like MOP!, Seek & Destroy!, Battery!. My singer Ross was like ok ok you like that **** hey! You wants some more don't you! YEAHHHHHHH! So then we just layed into Sad But True which went down nicely with the crowd during the start where you play the 0-7 chord I dropped my pick! so I had to play the whole song with my fingers I tryed the Gorrilla dance Rob does while playing which amused my Lead Guitarist as he was playing the solo!. Overall good crowd atmosphere and interaction I've ownly being with this band 5 weeks and I seem to be fitting in there all brilliant musicians but I think my Chrisma and knowledge of alot of Metallica songs have impressed em alot aswell.
|
Sounds good
|
That's awesome. My band might be having a gig in 2-3 weeks except the rest aren't big Metallica fans. I might be able to convince the other guys to play the middle of MOP with me just in between songs though.
BTW, i voted Metallica in that thread. NP: Creeping Death - download festival Don't worry about dropping your pick. If you've got a thing that hooks on the mic stand your good (i just bought one of those) |
Yo Joe!
My band is having a gig on the 18th then a couple huge talent/battle of the bands on january. Maybe even a Tallica cover |
When i went to see Dragonforce, as soon as the song 'Blackfire' kicked in the crowed just flew forward it took half the song to ragain your balance.
But there is always nice people in moshpits that pick you up if you fall down, unfortunatly there are also idiots who just want to hurt people:angry:
Thats what i meant by always having to look behind youre back. |
When was that?

I'm happy about this because my band is falling apart... but it's good we'll have a good gig. The pit would suck, just because of that. I would love to be in it but I'd rather watch the show than have someone kill me in the process
The Memory Remains is my favorite from Re-Load. Na na na na na... na na na na na. I love them both, it's too bad they don't do II live. |
Jom you are the bomb! we need you in here more.
The memory remains is awsome |
