the only decent radiohead album (minus the few good songs on Kid A) and the least hipster... i applaud you jorndizzle
I await many posters to tell me how many things are objectively wrong with my subjective post
lol your post wasn't subjective at all, you made an objective claim. way to fail at trying to be smart. |
but but it was subjective
|
no it wasn't, he made an objective claim. he said something is something, not that he thought it was that way, but that it was objectively that way.
|
he was giving his subjective view of the subject
|
did you even read what he typed
|
he said the bends is decent
something can't objectively be decent |
yes it can
and dont try to feed me this postmodern bullshit about absolutely everything being subjective |
i'm going out west where they appreciate me
|
nah bro i've read plenty books
|
oh yah my bad you must be right
|
yes it can
and dont try to feed me this postmodern bullpoop about absolutely everything being subjective
I wouldn't say everything, but with personal taste i'm willing to believe it's a completely distorted matter from individual to individual |

I wouldn't say everything, but with personal taste i'm willing to believe it's a completely distorted matter from individual to individualp/quote] point is, the dude said something is something. that's an objective statement. he then said something about everyone else making objective responses to his subjective claim, but by his logic the responses would be subjective too, so he's contradicting himself. this whole 'all music is subjective yo it's just my opinion' crap is getting tiresome, because music is not entirely subjective. farting in a microphone is not objectively better than tchaikovsky, though someone can subjectively think so if they wish. objectivity exists in music just as much as in anything else. it's just annoying/lol when idiots try and use concepts they don't understand to pass off their poopty opinions on other people. the point is, he worded himself wrong (hxplicits), making himself look like a retard, and i decided to point that out. urgh |
all art is equal
there's no factual standard to make tchaikovsky better than "farting in a microphone" don't they teach you this at a v young age |
rofl no, all art is not equal, and you're a retard if you believe that
|
art is art
obviously how much you like it is subjective |
rofl no, all art is not equal, and you're a retard if you believe that
can you at least make a vague point to support this like i did |
wrong thread

can you at least make a vague point to support this like i did
well you tell me, you seem to be the expert and i actually made my point in the post you replied to but you obviously didn't get it
art is art obviously how much you like it is subjective
mr blitz has got the right idea, but i dont expect you to understand jaundice, maybe you read the rong bookz |
i've always made sure to memorize more classical literaturethan yull ever read tbh
this whole 'all music is subjective yo it's just my opinion' crap is getting tiresome, because music is not entirely subjective.
Nah.
farting in a microphone is not objectively better than tchaikovsky, though someone can subjectively think so if they wish.
Of course. Classical music isn't going to turn everyone on. Some might like Mr. Methane's take on the Blue Danube more then the real thing, though.
objectivity exists in music just as much as in anything else. it's just annoying/lol when idiots try and use concepts they don't understand to pass off their poopty opinions on other people.
In regards to personal taste I would say intersubjectivity is the closest we are ever going to get to an educated agreement about something. |
classical music isn't even sound good except for baroque
|
Nah.
nah as in nah it isn't or nah it is?
Of course. Classical music isn't going to turn everyone on. Some might like Mr. Methane's take on the Blue Danube more then the real thing, though.
i wasn't using the example of classical music for any particular reason, just to point out how absurd the example is. my point was that some things are better in their respective aims than other things, but this does not stop people from thinking otherwise. in other words, there is an element of subjectivity and objectivity to everything, not solely one or the other. |

We can agree on historical significance, technical mastery, whatever qualities are musically strong, I guess there is a sort of "scale" in a manner, not everyone will agree on it but there is something even if it is fluid. As for whether the result is aesthetically pleasing or not... it's an open field to the individual on that one. |
yeah that's basically what i'm saying ;)
