I don't care if it's underground or mainstream as long as it's good
I actually went through a brief period of time where I hated rap :upset: but I broke out of that spell and I love it more than ever.
The mainstream stuff I like is Pharcyde, the Roots, Jurassic 5, Reflection Eternal, etc. I am sick of "gangsta rap". I like the feel good, laid back stuff. |
I downloaded more rap today than I ever have. Every Aesop Rock album I don't have, 2 Nas albums (Illmatic and Nastradamus) and an Atmosphere album
Which Atmosphere album? |
For the avatar subject: My first avatar was one of those A Perfect Circle rock band ones, with the circle thing that broke into the band members.
|
Not much is new. Ditched Soulseek in favour of LimeWire in order to find more mainstream songs, and less tr00 black metal.
Limewire's always acted up for me whenever I've tried to use it. It's song selection is quite good though. |
Which Atmosphere album?
Seven's Travels NP Between the Buried and Me - Fire for a Dry Mouth This song is amazing. The dual solo at the end is perfectly done. |
So you guys reccomend Limewire? Ares is so unreliable.
|
Am I the only one here who's heard of adot?
http://www.purevolume.com/adot |
I still use Soulseek and think it's great. I can find just about anything with a little effort and usually the entire album of anything I want. That is hard to do with Limewire because you can't just browse a user's files then download the whole, pre sorted album folder.
|
Well, I hope it works out...
|

Ask Riva: it's been a very long time since I've used Limewire, since I only had it on my dial-up modem, which was way too slow to handle the downloads. (10 minutes to download 1 megabyte...) From what little I saw, though, it had a decent search engine and lots of songs. |

Jurassic 5 can be okay, but they can also be really annoying, and I've always been "meh" on The Roots. The only thing anyone can say about them is "They play their own instruments!" "What do you think of their latest record?" "They play their own instruments!" Their stuff is very lackluster IMO. Also, 1999 was a great year for rap: Jay-Z - Vol. 3 Dr. Dre - 2001 Nas - I Am Method Man - Blackout! ODB - Nigga Please even The Slim Shady LP was pretty good |
I reviewed DJ Dangermouse's Grey Album on sputnik. Not enough people saw that review.

Well, then, mister Dancin' Man, let me e-mail you a list of mainstream hip-hop and R&B my sister wants... |

I didn't know it came out then.
|
Thanks, Efil, for your comment in my review :)
No problemo. |

I use LImewire occasionally for more mainstream stuff and singles. I am generally not looking for mainstream music (mostly hard to find metal) which makes Limewire useless. It all depends what you're looking for. |
