Yes, except that the muzzle of the manatee is more pronounced, and its flippers more armlike. The dugong is more slimlined in the skull, its flippers are much less developed, and it is most definitely its own species.

Well, I just googled something to clear it all up and found something that looked pretty erudite and it would prove that you would both be right, also dictionary.com led me to believe that it was correct.
