Really? I never knew that. MMA has been my entire year.
Well I put MMA in quotes because that's not what I actually did, it wasn't big when I started. But my school, though rooted in TKD, had a variety of instructor specialists who would rotate schools about every 3 months and they specialized in things such as knives, bo staff, pankration, jiu jitsu, karate, and capoeira. Also as part of the general curriculum we learn nunchuku, escrima, kenpo, bo staff, muay thai, karate, etc.

Some of our curriculum has instructional videos on youtube:

studying music ist krieg

beans 09-07-2008 05:41 PM

agreed

Thor 09-07-2008 05:42 PM

though my jazz in american society class right now is kinda boring. we're just going over the VERY basics of the genre for all of the people in the class who know nothing about the music.

but later i saw on the syllabus we'll do entire units on coltrane and mingus. i'm so stoked for that.

beans 09-07-2008 05:45 PM

studying coltrane as schoolwork

sounds like heaven tbh

Thor 09-07-2008 05:46 PM

willfellmarsy 09-07-2008 05:51 PM

professors at your school let you submit papers you wrote in the past for something totally unrelated?

my schedule is ehhhh

News Editing & Writing
Media Structure & Policy
Contemporary Narrative
d0cumentary Film & Television
Sociology of Consumption
yeah, like they google every essay just to make sure it isn't plagerized
i've had lots of professors who type a sentence or two into a program to see if it's original material, and submitting a review he wrote in the past that's easily searchable under his real name + date stamped is a pretty obvious way to get caught/lazy.

pate 09-07-2008 05:55 PM

Teachers at my school would let you do that.

Yeah a lot of times they do.

elmntrs 09-07-2008 05:55 PM

thor you should really use that review it's pretty great

beans 09-07-2008 05:56 PM

youd be suprised how much extra time some of them spend on making sure they are original or not

adb 09-07-2008 05:58 PM
Teachers at my school would let you do that.

Yeah a lot of times they do.
