Hey everybody, it's Simple Man.

How ya doin, Simple Man?

ATM 02-22-2005 09:52 PM
I love that song. Hail To The Thief rules.
Damn right.

Simple Man 02-22-2005 09:52 PM

Not much, I gotta hit the sack in a few minutes, Got school tomorrow :/

It was so nice having a 4day weekend.

Illmatic 02-22-2005 09:55 PM

NP: Jay-Z - Can I Get A...

(brings me back to...6th or 7th grade, I think)

Also, peace out, SM.

Cain 02-22-2005 09:56 PM

NP: Michael Hedges: Dream Beach

With that, I greet this thread after two days' absence. What's happening?

Dancin' Man 02-22-2005 09:57 PM

I have decided to always say "Keep the faith brotha" instead of goodbye from now on.

 I still remember 95% of the words to it.

You crazy crazy bastard, Dancin' Man.

Also, Ripper, you missed FF's name change. He's at least 100 times cooler now.
 I still remember 95% of the words to it.
I don't listen to Vol. 2: Hard Knock Life very often, but if I feel the need to go back to 6th/7th grade, I'll listen to it just because of "Can I Get A..." and "Hard Knock Life".

Nice :thumb:

The world needs more Michael Hedges fans. That is if you are a fan :)

Nah, I've poked my head in, I just haven't posted. The name change did throw me quite a bit when I noticed it though, true enough. :)

My vote is for 1,000 times cooler. :thumb:

Still looking to change my name, though. Dancin, did you talk to an admin?

I used to love Volume 2. It was one of my first few rap albums so I listened to it all the time.

Illmatic 02-22-2005 10:01 PM

He got someone to talk to Double Bass Jim.

I'm a huge fan! I've conquered "Baal T'Shuvah" and "Ritual Dance" on guitar, in addition to his sweet, sweet cover of "All Along the Watchtower." I'm now tackling "Ragamuffin," but it's a bitch.

Also a big fan of Will Ackerman, the man who got Michael started.

Cain 02-22-2005 10:06 PM

What do reckon Eleventeen's doing right now? I wonder how hard he took the news that Head left Korn. :p

Same here. That was what, fall of '98? That was 7th grade. Then in the summer, "My Name Is" and "Guilty Conscience" dropped, then early in 8th grade, Vol. 3 AND Dr. Dre's 2001. Dizzamn.

My first rap cd was Puff Daddy's No Way Out. Oh man, back then that was the shit. Remember Victory?

I'm just getting into him, and am really digging everything I've heard so far.

:)

Hmmm... I believe my spam hasn't been up to scratch lately. I must work on improving it...

I was never much of a Puff Daddy guy, to be honest.

Michael or Will? They're both great. Ackerman is much more into ethereal stuff, stereotypically Windham Hill music. Michael is like a New Age rock star.

I can't stand him now, but I just remember really digging that back in 6th grade. What was your first rap album?

I remember My Name Is waaaaaaaaay back in 3rd grade or or so.

I thought the song was a little creepy, the beat and all.

I begged my mom to let me get Snoop Dogg's "Tha Doggfather" when I was 11. God that album sucked.

Then in 7th-8th grade, Jay-Z, Eminem, and Dr. Dre turned me into a full-fledged rap fan.

I was very into rap growing up, but now I am more of an underground nerd.

I don't care if it's underground or mainstream as long as it's good

I actually went through a brief period of time where I hated rap :upset: but I broke out of that spell and I love it more than ever.

Riva 02-22-2005 10:21 PM

Not much is new. Ditched Soulseek in favour of LimeWire in order to find more mainstream songs, and less tr00 black metal.

Dancin' Man 02-22-2005 10:22 PM

I downloaded more rap today than I ever have. Every Aesop Rock album I don't have, 2 Nas albums (Illmatic and Nastradamus) and an Atmosphere album
