I seen Dylan live in 2001, I really wish he was coming around my area for his current tour. It was just incredible. I liked it because he did a lot of songs differently than he'd ever done them before, it was new and fresh.

How was he exactly, though? My friends were telling me that he was mostly incoherent. And did he use a guitar or a piano? |
Zappa was completely against drug use, actually. I was shocked to find out too.
He drank loads of coffee and smoked a lot of cigarettes. No drug use, though. It's surprising, huh? :) Rumour has it he fired two guys smoking a joint on the spot who were part of his crew. |
yea i was worried that was just my imagination. o i just discovered a great classic rock band by the name of The Moody Blues. now they are good. check out "Nights in White Satin," "Tuesday Afternoon," "Ride my SeeSaw," and "I'm just a singer (in a rock and roll band)."
The Moody Blues are awesome. If you check them out and like them, you may also check out Blue Oyster Cult and Ted Nugent. Killer rock chords on Nugent's stuff! Wow, that's amazing, I was trying to think of how many drugs Zappa must have been on
I saw Bob Dylan when I was 8 years old in 1996. It was my first encounter with marijuana use. |
The Moody Blues are awesome. If you check them out and like them, you may also check out Blue Oyster Cult and Ted Nuggent. Killer rock chords on Nuggent's stuff!

Ted Nugent is also against drug use.
Doesn't smoke, doesn't drink, doesn't do drugs, hunts, talks on conservative radio, and supports the Patriot Act. The anti-rock star, no? /random |

Wasn't it the other way around 30 years ago? |

ha, not classic rock but did you guys hear about how bush was using a foo fighters song without their permission. grohl was pissed off and made him stop. i posted jeff beck's version of a day in the life in dboons thread yesterday. it is too severely awesome. |

Well, you have to keep in mind that NPR is also an "intellectual" radio station, so the music has to be like so. |
i like led zepp, hendrix, deep purple and pink floyd
but i dont think im a classic rock nut |

Like Ray said, the target audience of NPR is an older crowd, so playing rock wouldn't be a smart move on their part. |

Yeah, but baby boomers are the old ones now... ex flower-children |

Livewired has a tendency to sound very sarcastic
I wish I could go see Paul |

Yeah, that's the gay thing about Vegas. Good thing is, Thanksgiving dinner will be an all you can eat buffet...:D |

I'll try to go during spring break, because that's when the NCAA Tournament will be. IMagine being able to watch every single first and second round game at once, and having bets on all those games? |

Off topic, but did you hear that one guy who put all of his money, I mean, EVERYTHING, on one roulette spin and won? |
Sucks if you lose though.
Off topic, but did you hear that one guy who put all of his money, I mean, EVERYTHING, on one roulette spin and won?
I can't say that I have. I'm not much of a roulette guy. I'd be all over blackjack, Hold 'Em, and craps. |
I can't say that I have. I'm not much of a roulette guy. I'd be all over blackjack, Hold 'Em, and craps.
I would never play games at Vegas that don't require some elements of skill, because they are designed so you will lose. At least playing Stud or Hold 'em will give me the false impression that I'm in control of my money. |
Texas Hold'em for me. The ultimate stratagy game ;). It's always fun to put on some ZZ Top, drink beer and play poker.
(notice how I included a classic rock band for the sake of staying on topic) |
Jeff Beck BETTER move on!
|
I can't wait to see ZZ Top.
|
