For Decapitated, get Winds of Creation.

MRDuCran 04-07-2006 07:44 PM

Yeah I heard that was their best album, I've listened to a few tracks, not sure what to think yet though.

Then I saw he has already heard it :upset:

Yeah, I learnt that intro on Piano a while back. I've forgotten it now though :(

MRDuCran 04-07-2006 10:12 PM

That's cool, maybe I should too.

joe_fresh 04-08-2006 12:25 PM

Which Cephalic Carnage album would anyone recommend?

Edit: And also can anyone recommend some Lux Occulta?

Stoic 04-08-2006 01:20 PM

Lucid Interval for Cephalic Carnage

Sleepy 04-08-2006 01:45 PM
Can anybody recommend me some hair metal?
Dokken, Quiet Riot, W.A.S.P., Def Leppard, L.A. Guns, Faster Pussycat, Cinderella, The Cult, London Quireboys

Sorry, my knowledge of hair metal is EXTREMELY limited.

Stormrider 04-08-2006 02:04 PM

Its better then mine.

Stoic 04-08-2006 02:16 PM

Are you sure Dokken are considered Hair Metal?

Stoic 04-08-2006 02:23 PM

Hard rock? :-\ Anyways, I'm REALLY ignorant when it comes to such styles.

Sleepy 04-08-2006 02:25 PM
Hard rock? :-\ Anyways, I'm REALLY ignorant when it comes to such styles.
Eh, categorizing is more a matter of personal taste, anyway. That was just my take on hair metal.
Twisted Sister, Quiet Riot, Motley Crue, Warrant, those are all hair metal bands, that are okay.

Sleepy 04-08-2006 02:32 PM

Any of those do the trick, SOP?

superflyjojo 04-08-2006 10:51 PM

I'd like to get into the band Behemoth, anyone know which album I should start with?

Sleepy 04-08-2006 11:10 PM

Demigod to start - if you like what you hear, get Thelema 6 and Zos Kia Cultus.

superflyjojo 04-08-2006 11:17 PM
Demigod to start - if you like what you hear, get Thelema 6 and Zos Kia Cultus.
Thanks, I was actually thinking about picking up Demigod because I've heard Slaves Shall Serve, Conquer All, and the title track and liked them all. Thanks for the recommendation. :thumb:

Tusk 04-08-2006 11:22 PM

Would you categorize Styx in the hair metal category? How about the Scorpions? Ill go ahead and add those if so.

I'm Charming 04-08-2006 11:27 PM

Quoted For Truth.

Demigod is amazing.

-The Frank 04-09-2006 12:42 AM

Can anyone reccomend me a good live album from the rolling stones?

Jacaranda 04-09-2006 01:14 AM

Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! its from the 1969 2 night show at the Garden in NYC. Its their best live album and probably only one that non-hardcore fans will like. Other then Live Licks maybe which was recorded during the Licks World Tour so its older Stones.
On a side note you could just ask in CR thread if you ever need Stone recommendations!
On another note, the performances (or about 5-6) from Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! can been seen on the Gimme Shelter movie.

Riva 04-09-2006 03:39 AM

Why would Spat Out Plath need hair metal? :p

And Styx and Scorpions aren't hair metal. Styx are classic rock, and Scorpions are arena rock/proto-metal.

Leukeh 04-09-2006 05:40 AM

I recently got my friend into Children of Bodom... and was wondering which of their albums you guys would suggest me 'lending" to him first?

Riva 04-09-2006 05:46 AM

The only album I like by them is Hatebreeder, actually.

Sleepy 04-09-2006 10:12 AM
The only album I like by them is Hatebreeder, actually.
That's probably their best album. I also enjoyed Something Wild, but after Follow the Reaper they just went downhill.

IMO.

repcak 04-09-2006 10:20 AM

Hatecrew deathroll is still a very good album!

Apocalyptic Raids 04-09-2006 09:01 PM

Something Wild and Hatebreeder are the only albums that interest me anymore. Follow The Reaper has it's moments too.

Stormrider 04-11-2006 05:19 PM

Someone in that lil power metal thread that should be closed soon mentioned a band called Firewind that he described as "basicly heavier then Iced Earth with more powerful vocals". This got me curious. Can anyone name me 1 or 2 of their best songs ?

Thanks.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-12-2006 01:29 AM

Steerpike did a write up on them I think. Look in that thread and there should be suggested songs :)

Riva 04-12-2006 02:12 AM

I've heard they're quite good. They have Gus G, the Grecian guitar virtuoso of Dream Evil fame.

Vaper 04-12-2006 06:23 AM

What would be a good my dying bride album to start with besides as the flower withers & angel at the dark river

Bartender 04-12-2006 12:11 PM

Turn Loose the Swans is well liked, I think.

guitarist.kid 04-13-2006 03:16 PM

I'm gonna see the Sounds of the Underground and I wanna know more In Flames could recomend me some.

thanks
