TojesDolan 11-02-2006 06:23 PM

I have one piece up but I never really got comments.

FA 11-02-2006 08:05 PM

I put poetry on there but received barely anything so i quit doin it...

Surf 11-02-2006 08:51 PM

i post nowhere else. that is all.

TojesDolan 11-02-2006 09:20 PM

I'll just transfer all my material down there and see what happens.

TheBigMachine 11-03-2006 04:31 AM

Nah man deviantart is for art. I find that not alot of people take notice of anothers poetry unless you have extreme skills.

TojesDolan 11-03-2006 10:28 AM

my skills are 3xt43m3

On a related note, no one cares about art at deviantart. Unless you're exceptionally good.

Surf 11-03-2006 01:26 PM

i have never spent much time on deviantart. seems too big to provide an effecive community, bit too narcissistic for my liking.

slack 11-03-2006 01:28 PM

I noticeed a lot of the better artists were pulling their work because of a policy that allowed DeviantArt to use work without the artist's permission for promotional purposes.

Whatever. They're all just corporate crooks. Fight the power, guys. I mean srsly.

TheBigMachine 11-03-2006 04:47 PM

Fight the power man.

Still, I do enjoy browsing over Deviantart occasionally...

slack 11-03-2006 08:55 PM

I want a bigger avatar. This picture is too cool to be at 70x70.

TojesDolan 11-03-2006 09:01 PM

Having a large avatar isn't that awesome.

TheBigMachine 11-03-2006 09:30 PM

Yeah but that picture is.

FunknPunk 11-03-2006 09:38 PM

tru dat.

TheBigMachine 11-03-2006 09:38 PM

Mine too. But you cant see it proper.

pixiesfanyo 11-03-2006 09:41 PM

No. That picture sucks.

TheBigMachine 11-03-2006 09:43 PM

Sure.
I enjoy it though.
Whatever turns your steak.

FunknPunk 11-03-2006 09:43 PM

i'm not sure i get TojesDoLan's avatar. a huge lump of tofu with a smiley face and a heart?

yeah.

TojesDolan 11-03-2006 09:46 PM

It's meant to make people happy.

FunknPunk 11-03-2006 09:50 PM

Oh. Well i feel happier every time i see that. It's just. random

TojesDolan 11-03-2006 09:55 PM

My real life unhappiness is made up with the happiness I spread on the internets.

And seasoned with the pieces I post every now and then.

TheBigMachine 11-03-2006 09:55 PM

It is quite nice I agree.

FunknPunk 11-03-2006 11:13 PM

tofu cube.

could be some lame kiddy japanese tv-show.

TojesDolan 11-03-2006 11:56 PM

I don't generally like jap animation, but this one was OK

slack 11-04-2006 04:30 PM

Are you still doing Song of the Month, tojes?

Surf 11-04-2006 04:51 PM

slack has changed his avatar. i fear change.

i'm going to go and crit his piece now.

slack 11-04-2006 04:59 PM

Yes, yes I did, and it'd be much sweeter if it was |<--------this big-------->|

Surf 11-04-2006 05:05 PM

critt'd.

the new avatar is cool. i don't know what the old one was, but at least it went with the forum skin.

my avatar would rock if it were |<-----------this big---------->|

slack 11-04-2006 05:08 PM

It was My Bloody Valentine's Loveless cover, or part of it. I don't listen to them much anymore; in fact, I never really did. I just liked the cloudy look.

Thanks for the crit, by the way. I was listening to Waits at the time I wrote it, and that's exactly the sound I had in mind.

I bought Rain Dogs today. Still haven't listened to it, though. :p
Frank settled down in the Valley
and he hung his wild years on a nail that he drove through his wife's forehead
He sold used office furniture out there on San Fernando Road
and assumed a 30,000 dollar loan at fifteen and a quarter percent
put a down payment on a little two bedroom place

His wife was a spent piece of used jet trash
Made good Bloody Mary's
Kept her mouth shut most of the time
Had a little Chihuahua named Carlos
that had some kind of skin disease
and was totally blind

They had a thoroughly modern kitchen
Self-cleaning oven, the whole bit
Frank drove a little sedan
They were so happy

One night Frank was on his way home from work
He stopped at the liquor store
Picked up a couple of Mickey's Big Mouths
Drank 'em in the car, and with a Shell station
he got a gallon of gas in a can
Drove home, doused everything in the house
Torched it
Parked across the street laughing
Watching it burn
All Halloween orange and chimney red
Then Frank put on a top forty station
Got on the Hollywood Freeway
and headed North

Never could stand that dog
made me laugh.

slack 11-04-2006 05:32 PM

Yeah I know, that's so great. I'm really starting to like his lyrics more than both Dylan and Springsteen, even though they're all great. Tom is just ... strange, like another Tim Burton.

TojesDolan 11-04-2006 09:38 PM

Sure. Let me make a thread about it.

slack 11-05-2006 04:55 AM

I fell asleep to F#A# tonight. It was awesome.

Surf 11-05-2006 08:45 AM

the other night i fell asleep whilst listening to takk by sigor ros. it was weird.

alot of the skill is in the delivery. he's alot funnier than either springsteen or dylan, but admidst the weirdness and jokes there's some amazing lines. example from the song i posted above All Halloween orange and chimney red.

slack 11-05-2006 10:43 AM

Good post rock itt
alot of the skill is in the delivery. he's alot funnier than either springsteen or dylan, but admidst the weirdness and jokes there's some amazing lines. example from the song i posted above All Halloween orange and chimney red.
Yeah, besides, I don't find Springsteen's music all that interesting anyway. His latest is kind of dull, except for Reno and Devils + Dust. And Bob Dylan, ... well you can't fuck with Bob Dylan. :)

TojesDolan 11-05-2006 10:50 AM

I fell asleep to Porcupine Tree. I should get more stuff by them, for sure.

Surf 11-05-2006 10:57 AM

i fell asleep listening to brian eno's ambient albums. this wasn't odd at all, its very relaxing.

pixiesfanyo 11-05-2006 11:17 AM

I fell asleep last night to Animals.

Really relaxing album.

Surf 11-05-2006 11:22 AM

slack 11-05-2006 11:23 AM

Oh what have I done. :|

Surf 11-05-2006 06:01 PM

Big man, pig man, ha ha charade you are.
You well heeled big wheel, ha ha charade you are.
And when your hand is on your heart,
You're nearly a good laugh,Almost a joker,
With your head down in the pig bin,
Saying "Keep on digging."
Pig stain on your fat chin.
