I got all that from the Black album DVD.
Is it worth getting?

Squirrel 05-16-2004 01:28 PM

I like it, yeah. 'Tis cool to see them talking about it. Has some cool extras on the end of it.

Burdcheese 05-16-2004 01:30 PM

I might consider it... its at the bottom of a very long list of CDs/DVDs/Musical Instruments though

Squirrel 05-16-2004 01:32 PM

Uhu, the Carcass DVD blows it out of the water mind.

Photophobic 05-16-2004 01:41 PM

I've missed this thread, it feel good to be home!
:chug:

Burdcheese 05-16-2004 01:44 PM

Welcome back! :chug:

Been anywhere nice?

Photophobic 05-16-2004 01:46 PM

My mums 50th birthday. We went camping with a bunch of aged hippies. Sat round the campfire talking about Metallica with one of the best guitarists I have ever met. Then we started singing Rolling Stones and Led Zeppling with his acocustic.

Stairway to Heaven modification:
And then some more verses
if we knew them we would sing them
but we don't, so we go to the rocky bit

Burdcheese 05-16-2004 01:49 PM

Sounds good - the chances of me talking about Metallica at the 50th birthday party of anyone I know are slim indeed...

Photophobic 05-16-2004 01:57 PM

exactly. I kept the faith alive, lets put it like that. I swear at one point he started playing Sandman but them changed it quickly when someone suggestted an older song.

superpeer 05-16-2004 02:54 PM

I was just looking at the first posts of this tread and realized that I had asked a question many months ago and it never got answered.

It was:
Is there a reason that James Hetfield sings the word 'motorbreath' in such a peculiar way or is it just a speaking disorder?

Burdcheese 05-16-2004 03:21 PM

Moootttaaabreath!!!

dougefresh 05-16-2004 03:22 PM

I don't think it's a speech disorder, he probably just does it like he does his "YEAH!!!" and "Oooooohh"

gernm17 05-16-2004 07:09 PM

maybe the reason is cos it sounds good

SlaveToTheGrind 05-17-2004 07:27 AM

i have never hear motorbreath

superpeer 05-17-2004 08:52 AM

^
Listen to it, it's a great song.

LordDargon 05-17-2004 08:54 AM

How does it go again... oh man it's funny... "take your stinky breath away" or something. Haha.

maybe i'll download it if i have time. is there a fast solo?

superpeer 05-17-2004 11:03 AM

Reasonably fast I think, but not very long if I remember correctly.

SlaveToTheGrind 05-17-2004 11:06 AM

that's good. don't like long hammet solos

Burdcheese 05-17-2004 11:39 AM

Its a pretty short song - not their best

SlaveToTheGrind 05-17-2004 11:42 AM

i like it :)

Photophobic 05-17-2004 11:52 AM

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what we mean when we say 'conversion expirience'

Burdcheese 05-17-2004 11:53 AM

How so?

Photophobic 05-17-2004 12:05 PM

he hadn't expirienced it before. You converted him. Now he likes it.

superpeer 05-17-2004 12:06 PM

Deep, man.

dougefresh 05-17-2004 06:28 PM

I like the riff in the beginning :)

(of Motorbreath)

I love You 05-17-2004 09:59 PM

I like the opening riff to seek and destroy

Lateralias 05-17-2004 11:06 PM

I have question on the song "Wherever i May Roam". Can any of you tell me what the sound is played at about 0:29, 0:37, 0:48, etc...... Im thinking it might a be a peice of percussion or perhaps even a guitar effect. If anybody can tell me what sounds this is then thank you.

Scotti912 05-18-2004 01:32 AM

I think its just a hammer hitting a big metal train rail looking thing. You will hear that sound if you walk into a steam mill

Zmev 05-18-2004 02:58 AM

I dunno, they did do a good cover of Turn the Page
