Sorry,I couldn't think of a crappy example band that we talked about in the other thread.'
Edit: And thankyou Rock not Roll for leading us into hear. Where I can be with my own kind. |
I've been to their current show. And yes I can say kickass. Although it's not as good as it was back in the 90s.

*in the words of eric cartman* KICK***!

 EC! Let's take a vote. Eric Cartmen or Eric Clapton?
dang im so horrible at this :upset:
oh man...this is a toughie.....i'd say clapton.
Cartman > Clapton
That is a tough one. I like music more than TV so Eric Clapton.
i do actually respect clapton though, hes another 'classic' guy whos good. Leeeiilllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Yea he's still real good today too.
Im thinking of getting into some Cream, anyone recommend any albums?
Get yourself Wheel's of Fire. Or a best of album.
Wheels of Fire rules. Actually I like all their albums. The 'best of' is probably the best idea, but it doesn't have Rollin' and Tumblin', Toad, or Cat's Squirrel which are my favorite songs off Fresh Cream.

haha me too.. im also sampling rush but iunno if i like em or not.. |
Youll love rush...trust me.
Listen songs like Tom Sawyer YYZ Working Man (kick *** Solo) Spirit of Radio and then your on your own I suggest getting Moving Pictures first. great Album. Chronicles also has some good songs on it for a bets hits. Feedback wasnt good at all so no matter how cheap, dont get it. |

If he really wants to get into cream than a best of just wont cut it. But that should be the first one he gets. |
Yea, what happened to me was I got the best of, then I ended up buying all their albums. So I never listen to the best of anymore.
I just downloaded Babe I'm Gonna Leave You by Led Zeppelin and wow...I love this song. Such a beautiful acoustic melody.
*n00b to all this 1337 talk about classical rock* |
Classic Rock is the way to go!
I love classic rock because a lot of it seems more raw and emotional than the newer processed stuff. The first badn I really got into was the Guess Who. Then I discovered Zeppelin and now I own all their albums (all gold :thumb: ). I definately recomend The Velvet Underground for preople looking for somthing different. If you want to write lyrics you should own tons of Dylan (I mean really listen to him). I'm not a huge Beatles fan though, and I've tried to get into them. I'd rather the Stones or the Who any day.
bump ;)
I recommend Fly At Night by Chiliwak.
I hate the greatest hits concept. They're never the best songs anyway.
I found this out with The Beatles. My 10 favorite songs aren't even on the 1 album, and I think there's only several songs on there I really like (basically, let it be, day tripper, and something). So I tend to stay away from Greatest Hits, kids just get that and they're like "Yeah, they're cool man" but they don't know any of the other goodies that never saw it big. That's why it'll take me forever to amass a decent classic rock collection ;) Going back to the Beatles 1 CD, lets take a look at each single, the A side that made it to #1, and the better B side that didn't (well, the whole concept is a flop; the Beatles first #1 was Please Please Me, which isn't on the album, and Love Me Do peaked at #17). Paperback Rider/Rain: PR is good, but Rain is just badass. Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields Forever: Is this really a contest? What's so great about Penny Lane? Way too bouncy and happy. SFF is one of the best songs of all time. Why can't people like Lennon's music? Argh! All You Need is Love/Baby You're a Rich Man: This is about the same. I love the lyrics in AYNiL, but BYaRM has better music. Sorta a tossup. Hello, Goodbye/I am the Walrus: Hello Goodbye was good, but I am the Walrus is just a plain classic. Lady Madonna/The Inner Light: Lady Madonna isn't my cup of tea. Inner Light is one of the more beautiful Beatle songs....George's first single too! Hey Jude/Revolution: Hey Jude is fine and dandy and all, but, c'mon, Revolution! Its so spiffy and badass, I don't know what else to say. Get Back/Don't Let me Down: Get Back has gotten real old with me. Don't Let me Down seems a lot mellower and more boring but I dig it a lot more. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, don't get a Greatest Hits CD. Just get the individual albums. It'll be more worth your while. |
Yup^

Yes
