Hmm... well, Rob isn't a very good bassist, for one. And he plays his bass CROUCHING. What kind of dude plays his bass crouching down?
I hope that's sarcasm.

Atleast he fingerpicks.

Go listen to Infectious Grooves and Suicidal Tendencies.

Then come back and tell me Rob's not a very good bassist.
The people I've been told I look like:

Yngwie Malmsteen*
If someone told me I looked like Yngwie Malmsteen, I'd punch them in the face.

6stringslinger 11-08-2005 12:42 AM

Is Metallica still opening for the Stones next week?

bringbacktheshred 11-08-2005 01:08 AM

Any news on a new album? I am so hanging out for this...

Maybe some good music on the scene for once...

So Joe where have you been?

The website is funny. sometime this decade? thanks!

I bet Lars was the one who said that

timmySmi 11-08-2005 06:23 AM
Atleast he fingerpicks.
Jason finger picked aswell.

I don't hate Rob I think they could'nt have found a better replacement if anything Jaymez Kirk and Lars will have trouble keeping up with him!
I guess my era of growing up listening to Metallica I was learning stuff from Black Album ,Load, Reload and gained a soft spot for Jason he's had a amazing influeance on my bass playing and I have the upmost respect for the guy.

Kickflip_Burrito 11-08-2005 06:36 AM
I dunno. I've never even heard of it.

What's it about?
SO WHAT! is a book full of pictures, interviews and articles from the Metallica So What! Magazine over the years. Its pretty much a compilation of stuff from the magazine over the past 10-15 years or so. Its pretty good, I'd recommend it to any Metallica fan.

Question about tallica: Are they finished? If ther're not when's their next tour?

Jev 11-08-2005 11:07 AM
Question about tallica: Are they finished? If ther're not when's their next tour?
Nah they're not finished. they should be bringing out a new album next year.

DaveTheAmazing 2.0 11-08-2005 11:46 AM

The day they throw in the towel is the day I commit suicide.

Chances are a tour will be done after the new album to answer your other question.

Jev 11-08-2005 11:53 AM

When I go to see them next tour I won't headbang as hard. That way I'll remember more.

TheSlayer 11-08-2005 11:59 AM

lol. For some songs it's just hard not too.

Jev 11-08-2005 12:09 PM

Yeah but the first time I went to see them I headbanged so much I forgot most of it.

lightningmetal666 11-08-2005 12:46 PM
Yeah but the first time I went to see them I headbanged so much I forgot most of it.
Yeah, I've done that with some local hardcore bands but was kinda glad I forgot about it later. I was a little :smash: when I saw them.

Just thought I would bring up this point again. Me and my mate were talking about Rob in our business lesson. Firstly he is an excellent bassist, I mean just by watching him play Battery with his fingers i was like

And as for the crouching thing, I love it. His always does these weird dances and stuff, like when he jumps on his bed when listening to Invisible Kid on the SKOM DVD. That is just pure coolness. No questions. The only thing I miss about Jason is his backing vocals, but still I would pick Rob over Jason, I really hope he has a big influence on the next album.

Jason was awesome as far as stage presence and humor goes. I think if rob kinda steps up and gets a little more crazy, ppl will accept him more. I've seen videos of him with Ozzy and he can act pretty nutty, especially when he's playing with Zakk Wylde.

Now that he's with Metallica, he's in new surroundings and I think that's why he's a little antisocial (if you will).

Jev 11-08-2005 01:45 PM

Jason just didn't seem to fit for me. I didn't like him much.

uno dos tres quatro cinco sies siete? thas better...
no, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 works
Question about tallica: Are they finished? If ther're not when's their next tour?
No where near. Believe me if they were done they would not have given Rob $1,000,000 in advance
Jason finger picked aswell.
When was this? It was always a pick live.

Just don't get drunk, you'll be fine.

Aw3someman 11-08-2005 01:57 PM

who cares? as long as he's a good bassist and doesn't ruin the songs. i don't care. I would be more interested in watching hammet and hetfield anyway. screw the drums and bass j/k but i would rather watch hammet and hetfielld

Rob's bass solos are pretty cool... Except yea, I do like Kirk and James just fooling around doing different harmony riffs and etc

Speaking of harmony riffs, NP- Creeping Death

I would never ever get drunk at a Metallica gig.
Unless the beer was free.

The bass solo at Download 2004 is ace. Pure wholesome goodness of meaty bass sound. Funky and heavy :thumb:

Agreed. Junglescene man, great stuff. Speaking of concerts and etc, they haven't updated the Vault yet. I can't wait for more stuff. I'm at 1901 songs in my media player and 309 are Metallica and it'll be 2,000 and 400 when they update it :D

edit: more numbers, 36 away from 6,000
