What do you mean by "clean". As far as i'm concerned, if you take any medication that alters your body or the like, you have broken edge.

I'm getting my wisdom teeth out soon. Should I not take my Vicodin perscription? Would I really be doing what's in my best interest by sitting there in excruciating pain for two weeks?

Look at the big picture.

The elders will probrally be "drug-free", but not edge since they won't claim it anymroe or listen to hardcore. But someone can stay drug-free for their whole life.

To me, saying I'll be true till death means that I'll be true to my own personal conviction to be clean for my whole life.

There's a whole group on myspace devoted to edge hardcore "kids" in their 30s and older. Check it out some time. The group leader has a picture of himself, his two little girls, and his wife x'd up with x watches. I think it's fantastic that someone can stay "true" for that long... I just don't think straight edge is for me and I don't think it makes much sense. To each his own.
