this is the first metalcore song i ever heard :3
12/23/1993 or My Last Serenade was the first songs I heard.

Maaaadddddd nostalgia.

Oh man listening to YCBY again, the melodic part at :55 on the realist is so ****ing good

witchxrapist 06-07-2010 03:36 PM

Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste and The Great Dividers, sup?

2muchket! 06-07-2010 03:40 PM

I remember the first time I heard that. Was just after I listened to We Are the Romans for the first time and was like hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Still what an excellent song.

witchxrapist 06-07-2010 03:45 PM

Parks And What You Meant To Me might be one of the best metalcore songs of that emo-ish stage the scene went through at the beginning of the decade.

witchxrapist 06-07-2010 03:51 PM

Frankie

Didn't notice this until recently, probably Poison The Well's best song.

xMalcolmXx 06-07-2010 03:54 PM

tear from the red is probably my favorite, also because of high school nostalgia

brings me back to better times :'-[

witchxrapist 06-07-2010 03:54 PM

Hahaha. Listening to this just makes me realize it's bizarre that one of my best friends is in the military right now and I haven't seen him for a good 5 years.

xMalcolmXx 06-07-2010 04:08 PM

reminds me of the summer between my junior and senior year where i fell pretty hard for this bitch and didnt make a move when i shouldve and then got over it and now were just best friends so idk it worked out pretty well i suppose

but enough about that back to how awesome the breakdowns in turn down elliot are ughghgg

nevertoolate 06-07-2010 04:48 PM

new Knut is tasty

HighandDriving 06-07-2010 05:36 PM

All this first metalcore song stuff makes me feel old, I can remember going to get They're Only Chasing Safety the day it came out. Feels bad man.

witchxrapist 06-07-2010 07:10 PM

I remember getting TOCS, damn, that album's STILL so catchy.

Endangered Oddity 06-07-2010 08:11 PM

My knuckles have turned to white, theres no turning back to tonight....

xMalcolmXx 06-07-2010 08:13 PM

i remember hearing my last serenade in 7th grade and poopting my pants because of a breakdown

first metalcore album i bought was hot damn. probably why i <3 it so much.

Si1v3RfaNg 06-07-2010 08:51 PM

Maybe I should give YCBY and The Tropic Rot another chance. My tastes have changed a lot since I last listened to them.

Endangered Oddity 06-07-2010 08:52 PM

Indeed you should both superb albums.

RetiredAt21 06-07-2010 09:14 PM

First metalcore album was the Opposite of December. <3333 Nerdy and good breakdowns throughout that album.

Si1v3RfaNg 06-07-2010 09:16 PM

Yeah Nerdy rules hard. I really like the production on TOOD.

publicastration 06-07-2010 09:58 PM
I'm not saying that Knut isn't good or the new album isn't good but it's not great like you guys are saying it is. I might listen to it maybe one more time and then forget tbh.
I actually agree completely with justin it's pretty good but not great

witchxrapist 06-07-2010 10:04 PM

I really like the new Knut. :o

thomasj12e34 06-07-2010 10:26 PM

Jaundice 06-07-2010 10:37 PM
I listened to them when it was rec'd to me like 5 months ago. I just started to like them more recently maaan. And I listen to a lot of music Justin hates tbh, pretty sure all he listens to is black metal, hardcore, and metalcore.
no he listens to plenty girly indie pop that sounds like postal service without synth

thomasj12e34 06-07-2010 11:31 PM

im pretty sure justin's favorite music genre is dub

nevertoolate 06-07-2010 11:40 PM

RetiredAt21 06-08-2010 07:09 AM
im pretty sure justin's favorite music genre is dub

I remember getting TOCS, damn, that album's STILL so catchy.
I haven't listen to that album in years but it puts most of their peers new stuff to shame.

2muchket! 06-08-2010 02:53 PM

Listening to 10.21 for the first time in ages.

God I love this album.

JonG 06-08-2010 05:18 PM
