Kozelek was fantastic, his voice was spot on and beautiful and he played all the songs great, didn't recognize a lot of it but I know he played "Lucky Man," "Glenn Tipton," "Moorestown," "Heron Blue," "Blue Orchids," "Somewhere (Version 1)," "Follow You, Follow Me (amazing Genesis cover by a married couple in the crowd's request for their sixth anniversary, it was their wedding song)," covered "Send In The Clowns," ended his set with "Duk Koo Kim," and the second encore and final song was "Summer Dress."

Despite his humble stage performance (he just stood at the mic and sang the whole 2 hours, ending the songs very abruptly), he's actually a funny guy. Definitely a fantastic show. The opener Stewart Lupton was hilariously good, he was this dude who was the most strung out looking mother****er I have ever seen, god knows how many drugs he was on. I only caught 2-3 songs but he definitely only knew a couple chords and would moan into the mic with all this reverb on his voice (reflecting what his own voice sounded like when he was younger and really ****ed up on drugs). But he had this nice Jeff Tweedy sounding voice and his lyrics were great. He would pause for 5 minutes in between songs to explain to us what he had written it about (one in particular was about one of his friends who made it through a halfway house recovery program that he was at when he was younger, pausing to tell us about how he was kicked out of the same program for kissing one of the grocery girls). I looked the guy up, he's a DC local who was in a band Jonathan Fire*Eater, two of whose members formed the Walkmen, and now he's in The Childballads. I don't know this dude's story at all but he mentioned this was his first music in 10 years. All I know is the most strung out looking dude i have ever seen onstage still functioning and playing guitar even though his guitar would fall out of the strap at random points. But anyway, his music had a certain sincerity and raw emotion.

Anyway awesome show
