I always considered them hard rock.

metalmilitia101 11-07-2005 12:14 PM

not sure if metallica has any piano, sometimes it sounds like they have some in tuesday's gone but then i listen to it when i'm sober and it doesnt anymore

Jev 11-07-2005 12:19 PM

Uhh brain drain.
What's the name of the song with the Hurdy Gurdy in it? If you listen closely at the beggining Lars says "get the vodka"

I am sure Metallica has some keyboard in a few of their songs. I noticed it in quite a few songs...or at least I am sure I have. I couldn't really tell you what songs, but

My Friend of Misery
Unforgiven
Fade to Black

Those are the songs that come to mind when I heard keyboard in their song, it's so faint though, it's hard to notice.

Jev 11-07-2005 12:25 PM

They definately have keyboard, Bob Rock played it for them. I mean proper piano.

Jev 11-07-2005 01:11 PM

The solo is fun to play.

Aw3someman 11-07-2005 01:26 PM
The solo is fun to play.
Yes it is. But the my favorite solos from Metallica would have to be all three of the ones in 'One'. They are the bomb

metalmilitia101 11-07-2005 01:52 PM

Prince Charming is one of my favourite Metallica songs, and the Unforgiven II is pretty good as well. i also really like The Outlaw Torn, but i think that's off Load?

TheSlayer 11-07-2005 02:17 PM

Metallica are very good btw (iin my opinion) i just think re-load sucked. The rest of the albums are good. Master of puppets is the best.

I liked Kirks soloing on KEA and RTL the best. I'm sorry but I don't know very many ppl (besides Joe  ) that can pull off the last solo to FTB. I'm more partial to Kirks soloing on KEA though. Who would've known that you could play minor pentatonic scales in that fashion?

PepsiMetal 11-07-2005 02:31 PM
Does anyone else think re-load is shit?
Nope. Bad seed, slither, fuel, low man's lyric, etc.. all good song. It's different than earlier metallica, but still, is a very goo album.

Yeah I'm kinda partial to fuel and memory remains.

I think it's weird how a band can do a song that's a parody of their own egos.
