yah there are a lot of samey bands going around, but that isn't to say there arent lots of great ones as well

fair enough, i thought about doing the same. i grabbed the preorder+shirt package from the willowtip store, but didn't really want to wait

i thought about getting the shirt too but decided against it. i did get the grief 'come to grief' reissue with the shirt they had going a few months back though.

@Itwasthatwas: i liked your review more than the other guy's

new one is more about atmospheric sections rather than the more chaotic/frantic riffs. they seemed to have improved transitions and the flow of the album too. the last 4 especially are my favourites, although the ones before are pretty amazing as well.

@Rasp: Nice call on the Grief set, I actually grabbed that one too. I wasn't sure about this Ulcerate one since there was no clear pic of the shirt but I guess I'll find out how it is

@DBlitz: thanks man, and thanks for checking it out. I agree completely about the sound, people on the review site keep talking about how the new one is so similar to EiF but I find they changed direction fairly significantly on it. i don't think all the immo and gorguts comparisons are that relevant anymore, at least not to the extent they're doing it

yes agreed

when i listened to dead oceans when it came out i was slightly disappointed since it sounded a lot like EiF to me. kinda had the same vibe when i listened to the album the first time, but yea it's pretty different. it's not a giant leap forward or anything, it's more like a refinement of their sound.
