On another subject, How about Pulling Teeth? They are closer to proto-metalcore I guess. Metallic Hardcore became metalcore. I like the new album.

caitiff choir has the poppy songs with a lot of clean singing, but if you skip those, the heavy stuff is all in all better than the new one

Dan could wipe the floor with both of them lol. Musically, Zao is much more abrasive and powerful, more my style. This is my opinion. You can keep defening underoath, Zao annihilates them. They came before, they pioneered, they are superior musically.

Okay. Firstly, Underoath have released at least three albums better than anything Zao has ever done. I like Zao, both old Zao and new fake-Zao, but they've been releasing the same album for over a decade. Secondly, comparing lyrics is pointless. Neither band writes anything but average lyrics. Thirdly, Zao didn't pioneer ****.

Well it's true. You could throw all of Zao's albums into a hat and no matter what you pick out you're getting the same level of quality. Granted they've probably never released anything as terrible as They're Only Chasing Safety or Act of Depression, but I digress.

Dan, generic rasps, no range.

Spencer extremely distinct and powerful, great range too, and he can sing.

Aaron, his vocals grow on you, or they grew on me.

They're Only Chasing Safety is awesome, it's like Taking Back Sunday meets Thursday with badass vocals.
