You could at least recommend songs from different albums :p

Bouree and Teacher would do you good.

Jam2Me 08-06-2005 04:29 PM

Yeah, I don't like Jehtro Tull at all. I had to refresh my disliking of them.

On a positive note, I didn't know the the Edgar Winter Group did the song "Free Ride"...that song rocks!

Those are my favorite songs by Tull. Plus...they're the only ones I know. :p

BludgeonySteve 08-06-2005 04:54 PM

Song for Jeffrey and Thick as a Brick are awesome too! In fact most of their songs are awesome.

clown_phobia 08-06-2005 05:12 PM

Who did you guys vote for in the modern rock bands poll?

BludgeonySteve 08-06-2005 05:14 PM

Radiohead although I don't really listen to them. Those polls are so weak.

clown_phobia 08-06-2005 05:15 PM

I hope RHCP wins it

jpj 08-06-2005 05:23 PM

I think I'm going to try and find the album Electric Warrior by T. Rex sometime soon, too.

np: Jeff Beck - Beck's Bolero

Upon further listening, I don't know why Music From Big Pink isn't voted the greatest album ever. It took me maybe two or times listening to it, but after that, I'm hooked. I've never heard a better vocal performance, not in terms of range or ability, but just because of the sheer emotion. It's a beautiful album.

Just had to get that out =p

Yea, I absolutely love Richard Manuel's voice, especially on "Tears of Rage". He was an amazingly emotional singer.

Edgar Winter kicks ass. Very underrated R&B/funk rock. My dad got me into him.

JonG 08-06-2005 09:11 PM

I like Johnny Winter, but that's just me.

Glitterati 08-06-2005 10:51 PM

I've been meaning to get into Edgar Winter for a while, what's a good album to start with?

Also, I've been heavily into Leonard Cohen lately. So depressing, but sooooo good.

Broken Arrow 08-07-2005 08:25 AM

The song Frankenstien by Edgar Winter is really good.

They Only Come Out at Night is a great one, it has Free Ride and Frankenstein. I listen to it frequently on vinyl. White Trash is also a good album.

PinkFreud 08-07-2005 09:24 AM

wuzzah?

Edgar Winter and Johnny Winter and Dickey Betts & The Great Southern came to the Pittsburgh Blues Festival. I didn't get to go :upset:

Glitterati 08-07-2005 10:25 AM
What albums/songs? I really love Leonard Cohen actually...along with Dylan I'd say that he's streets ahead of pretty much every other lyricist that I've come across. Cohen's actually a genuine poet though, which explains that. I don't really know whether I'd call his music depressing though. Probably bleak or something like that (I think there's a subtle difference in there somewhere). Songs Of Leonard Cohen and Songs From A Room are both phenomenal.
I've been listening to The Essential Leonard Cohen, I'm Your Man, Leonard Cohen Live, whatever I can find, really. "Suzanne," "First We Take Manhattan", and "Everybody Knows" are some of my favorite songs, though.

Coolness, I'll get to uploading those albums.

Badmoon 08-07-2005 09:11 PM

The Sigur Ros I've heard greatly bores me.

It's like lightly decorated silence.

ATM 08-07-2005 09:13 PM

Back from slave labor. What's this thread up to these days? I got a free copy of The Harder They Come by Jimmy Cliff and it's very good. Thank you thread. :thumb:

Badmoon 08-07-2005 09:19 PM

Weren't you one of the haters of the Harder They Come when I posted it a couple of months ago?

It may have been JPJ.

Yea, it was me :p

But I want to give it another listen.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 08-07-2005 09:30 PM

I haven't listined to it til' now. The only reason why I got is because I remembered someone had the guy on the front of the album cover on their avatar. (I'm pretty sure it was Moon) So I ended up taking it from my dad's ever so large collection of music and I'm glad I did. :D

I have like amillion questions for you, but I'll ask two:

Is it easy to upload music onto it?
and
Do you like it overall, or are you like "..man this thing sucks, overall."

It's pretty easy to upload music onto it, and I like it, but I just don't have much need to use it.
