Yeah, that outro is fucking epic. I love the ending to "Don't Tell And We Won't Ask," it's so cool.
Eh, I didn't think it was the best closer :-\

TMA 09-14-2005 07:48 PM
Hey TMA, how did the thing with your stomach turn out?
Tis been 9 days since I last threw up, which is a very good thing, cause at the time, I could rely on it happening every other day. Hasn't even bothered me at all since, so I'm pretty sure iit all worked out fine and I'm alive and well.
Your concern has oddly enough made me very happy. I just like knowing that not everybody in this world hates me and wishes me death.

TMA 09-14-2005 07:50 PM
Hah, you quoted me before I edited. I saw you mention liking Thrice in another thread so I thought you might have been messing around. Illusion of Safety is an album by Thrice, if you're still confused. Sorry about that. :p
Is it new?
I have Artist In The Ambulance and that is some seriously kick *ss sh*t. Any chance you might be able to upload it on YSI? My E-mail is MonkeyAbuser@aol.com (since the thread got closed down).

BridgeToSolace 09-14-2005 07:50 PM

I hate you and I hope you die.

Uhm, get your own favourite band. I like them the most, I wrote a review for their latest EP on sputnik.

Nope, it's not new, and yes I'll upload it and e-mail the link to you.

Man, I haven't used YSI in over a week. It's been weird.

Their full-length is better than their EP anyway. (Not that the EP is in any way bad).

I liked them last year. I'm way more of a whore for them. They got me into hardcore for moses' sake.

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=9638595&postcount=740

Do you know who does the short spoken sequences on the album? If you do, you're on my level of whore-edness.

Mute Print 09-14-2005 07:56 PM

I downloaded some Bridge to Solace off of you a couple days ago I think. So far it sounds pretty awesome, although I haven't listened to it much.

Bah, I've liked them for longer than that. And I know that "Of Bitterness and Hope" is better.

I don't know who does the spoken word, no, but I've read it somewhere :(

Oh, well, I was just kidding anyway, but I've been promoting them in every single thread I've could since I found them - let's hug in unity that we both love a great band :)

form 09-14-2005 07:57 PM

Speaking of Thrice, they are my second favorite band.

And:
I love that CD so much. I can't wait for Vheissu to come out.
How exactly do you pronounce that?

DepthsOfDreams555 09-14-2005 08:00 PM

Ya that CD is going to be incredible.

Mute Print 09-14-2005 08:01 PM

I'm not sure how it's pronounced. My guess would be Vee-sue, but I really have no clue.

Edit - Yup, that's what it says on VH1...

Vhay-zhu?

I dunno.

Edit: Guess not.

Thanks for the Thrice. :thumb:

DJ Ducksauce 09-14-2005 08:03 PM

I say it like Vi-hess-shu I doubt that's right though.

No problem, enjoy. :)

Thats how I said it at first, now its Vee-sue :)

EDIT: Goodnight MX.

DJ Ducksauce 09-14-2005 08:08 PM

I'm thinking it may be Vay-sue. I never really took the time to try and sound it out. I just said what came to me.
goodnight MX
Night
Bah, I've liked them for longer than that. And I know that "Of Bitterness and Hope" is better.
When you made your first thread about them in punk (before Hardcore/Emo forum existed) I'd known about them for months. I am the supreme whore.
I don't know who does the spoken word, no, but I've read it somewhere :(
If you remember the song where at the end, before the talking part, there's a distant screaming..."OF BITTERNESS AND HOPE!!!". It sounds extremely similar to the screamer of a band called "Trial". Near the end of the song "Quest" (track 7 on Trial's album Through The Darkest Days), before the breakdown, he does a similar talking part like in BTS.

Then again, I vaguely remember reading that it was a guy from Pennywise, so I might be wrong.
Oh, well, I was just kidding anyway, but I've been promoting them in every single thread I've could since I found them - let's hug in unity that we both love a great band :)
*pinched harmonic

BridgeToSolace 09-14-2005 08:14 PM
*pinched harmonic
I still can't do those :(

I can tap, improvize a solo in three keys, or in any key if I'm using a pentatonic scale, I can play for ten minutes only using one hand, and I STILL have no ****ing idea how to do a pinch harmonic.

TMA 09-14-2005 08:16 PM

How the f*ck do you do those?!

I was a founding member of Bridge to Solace back in 1987.

Alright good night everyone I'm goin to bed early tonight.

Pete 09-14-2005 08:19 PM
How the f*ck do you do those?!
There's a spot above the pick-ups that, when you mute it slightly and at the same time pick the string, you get an harmonics sound. The "pinching" would be picking and sorta muting the string at the same time, but you have to do it at a specific spot, and I think certain pick-ups work way better than others. It's a tricky deal indeed.

Hit the string with the pick and thumb at the same time. Practice.

They only even wanted to make a band in 2000, while they were still in Budapest. They only get the members together in 2002.

Practice? That concept is strange and foreign to me. Where did you come up with idea?

Sounds almost as weird as buying an album or something.

Those directions are horribly vague, by the way.

That's what they want you to think. In fact, the opera choir on "Will You Rewrite History With Me" are not sung by women - it's me when I was a child. We then spent 15 years perfecting the songs, and that's why they/we are so good today.

But you're better off asking in the Guitar forum, or looking on http://www.cyberfret.com or something.

It's hard to explain in words but www.cyberfret.com has good videos. Thats where I learned from it took like a week to perfect it or otherwise it would either sound really good or BAD.

Actually I don't know. I hear it a lot but I forget where.

I've bought *counts* 33 albums this semester, and more are in the mail. :-\

I know. But once you nail it, you'll understand :p

Mute Print 09-14-2005 08:26 PM

33 albums?! That's a lot. I've probably bought 10 or 12 all year... :(

Yup yup yup yup yup. :thumb:

Mute Print 09-14-2005 08:31 PM

I don't have enough money to buy that many CDs. I spend most of my money on shows, instead. Being 15, I don't have a job yet.
