Trivium is catchy as Hell, and I like their guitarwork and drumming :upset:.
They have crap loads to develop lyrically and vocally, though.

Holy shit, this new 1349 is damn good! I definitely need to buy this ASAP. The melodic and atmospheric feel destroys their last two albums.

Neurotoxin 10-31-2005 06:35 PM

I like it too.

Anyways, tonight is Catch 22. What better way to spend Halloween than skanking?

I wasn't to keen on their last two albums. Maybe I'll check this one out.

BoboTheRagingHobo 10-31-2005 06:39 PM
Believe me, it's not. :( Worst song on the album.
So far what I have heard is The End is by far the worst song on the album.

Talk about quite generic crap. It sounds like Linkin Park mashed together with Evanessence with an even crappier video.

I saw them live once. I found the live show hilarious for some reason. That is, until my friend pushed me into a mosh pit. :(

Good, I guess. I'll be doing very badly at literature class this month, and I have to learn how to program in C++ for an exam next week.

Yeah, learning.

Shadows 10-31-2005 07:06 PM

I feel for you guys. Opeth is coming nearby very soon, but I have to miss it. :( I'd love to see them live.

BoboTheRagingHobo 10-31-2005 07:09 PM

I wanted to see Opeth for only one reason, because Nevermore is touring with them.

But Nevermore did not start up on the tour until the 24th of October and the Oregon date was the first date on the tour.

Other then seeing Nevermore, I have no interest in seeing Opeth.

Nevermore will indeed be awesome, but why the poor attitude about Opeth? Even though the number of fanboys of the band have grown to endemic proportions, I think their music is nevertheless consistently of very high quality.

Shadows 10-31-2005 07:57 PM

I love Opeth, but I love Nevermore even more. Progressive music will always bore me to some degree, regardless of who it is or how the play it. Opeth is the closest thing to an exception I've ever found.

Still, nothing beats good Nevermore.

Lord Abortion 10-31-2005 07:57 PM

The rest of my band agreed to cover Dead skin mask.

and the next time they start playing bastard Metallica songs during random jamming, I'm going to throw something. Bastard Metallica fanboys.

Meh, Opeth was something I liked at first and then found out later it was fairly boring to my ears. I personally would like them so much better if they cut the repeating riffs over and over just for the sake of having a long song, which is what they do in every song...

Their new album is not as guilty with that complaint as much, and the keyboardisit really helped the band overall imo. But still not enough for me to a be a fan of their music.

And the rabid fanboys of the band is getting quite old as well, so blah.

Halloween's pretty boring here. I'm so bored, I started listening to The Joshua Tree. :(

But really, hopefully this keeps up so I can keep all my candy.

Riva 10-31-2005 08:38 PM

Yeah, Hallowe'en was so boring here. All this candy I bought went to naught. :(

MBS 10-31-2005 08:41 PM

Yeah, I've had 3 trick or treaters so far. It seems that the streets are fairly empty.

Dr. Jake Destructo 10-31-2005 08:41 PM

Opeth songs are hard to learn. The riffs are simple(and they sound much better on acoustic guitars, but that's besides the point..) but it's hard to keep track of the number of times you're supposed to play a riff.

"Okay, I've played this 32 times, what's next?"

:p

I'm learning Dirge for November, and that's my only complaint about Opeth.

My halloween celebrations included stealing a ladyfriend's cell phone, and repeatedly texting a guy she liked, and Halo 2.

How exciting.
My halloween celebrations included stealing a ladyfriend's cell phone, and repeatedly texting a guy she liked, and Halo 2.
Better than mine. I'm waiting for dinner, passing out candy, and waiting for dinner.

i am the robots 10-31-2005 08:45 PM

Ummm, I ended up playing Day of Defeat and bootlegging music. Then me and my friends played some Soul Calibur Three.

Dr. Jake Destructo 10-31-2005 08:48 PM

Yeah, but see, you're day is going neutral. You're at even keel. After a series of events between a few of my friends, (one being the whole text message thing) I feel like I have lost ground in my life. I'd definitely be better off having this day omitted from my life. :p I'd go in depth on this other situation, but I'd rather save running the risk of getting carpal tunnel syndrome. :p

In short, lots of lies(female) + lots of crap talking(me) = lots of drama

Try California. If you don't have any drama in your life, you're considered an outcast, it's great.

EVERYONE tries to live up to the OC, it's amazing.

BoboTheRagingHobo 10-31-2005 08:57 PM

I celebrated Halloween over at a friends party in a drunken haze on Friday, so no Halloween for me today.

I slept most of the day as it was non-stop raining all day, and then I proceeded to watch some Family Guy dvds. And now I am here, what an interesting day...

I wouldn't doubt that for a second. I'm pretty sure life is like that everywhere, but yeah, I'm sure there's an excess of it in your area. :p

Riva 10-31-2005 09:11 PM

Guess who bought Little River Band - Diamantia Cocktail and Mike Oldfield - Light + Shade. Wow. What great albums.

The Classic Rockers will love LRB, and I think everyone enjoys Mike.

I had an ok Halloween. I worked, then chilled at a local ice cream shop for 2 hours.

Now I gotta come up with my Senior ambition for school. It is due tomorrow :-/

NP: X-Japan - Art of Life(10 minutes into it)

Dr. Jake Destructo 10-31-2005 09:31 PM

Is that like a "senior project" Aaron? In Washington, every senior has to do this 2 year long project where you find a mentor in a certain profession you want to pursue, spend an X amont of time getting tought by this person, and at the end of the year, you need to present your findings to a panel of judges. This whole thing is a requirement for graduation.
