*sigh*, fine you can have Ringo. I hate the Beatles anyway :p

drugstore cowboy 08-05-2005 09:47 PM

Edit:  Yes!

Hey hey hey, let's not be hasty now. Don't wanna say things we can't take back.

np: Roundabout - Yes

Lunch 08-05-2005 09:56 PM

Yea guys, that was one of those "jokes". Don't know if you've heard about them.

LOL

BludgeonySteve 08-05-2005 09:56 PM

He will take it back, he was kidding.

He had better be kidding or we will kill him

edit: good! Don't ever joke about things like that.

drugstore cowboy 08-05-2005 09:59 PM

Woah, that was close..my heart was pounding for a second there. You really got me riled up there for a second, Lunch. :p

edit: There was this "Spirit of the 60's" program on PBS, where they played old footage, and had alot of bands play live. Some of it was pretty good. They had Procol Harum, and Eric Burdon. Of course, you had to sit through petty cash grab attempts by the PBS people.

jpj 08-05-2005 10:00 PM

The Beatles suck so hard, seriously.

Lunch 08-05-2005 10:01 PM

You guys actually took me seriously? Wtf? I used to stupid smilie to make it clear I was joking.

DC: I think I've seen part of that before. I remember seeing a bit with Big Brother on it.

And Procol Harum is really underrated.

drugstore cowboy 08-05-2005 10:02 PM

Hah..the part in TKAA where the girl asks Pete about talent and the Beatles, and he says "just listening to the backing track. They're horrible."

edit: Yeah, I should get a Procol Harum. I've only really hear Whiter Shade of Pale, and a few others. Conquistador, they did I think.

The guitarist for Big Brother is pretty good.

Lunch 08-05-2005 10:04 PM
Interviewer: But wouldn't you say The Beatles have a certain musical quality?
Pete Townshend: Oooh, that's a tough question. Actually, this afternoon, John and I were listening to a stereo LP of The Beatles, in which the voices come out of the one side and the backing track came out of the other. And when you actually hear the backing tracks of The Beatles without their voices, it's flippin' lousy.
I like that part. I don't know what word he says before lousy, but it did sound like fucking.

Edit: Turns out it's "flippn", according to the subtitles.

Yep yep. RockandRoll turned me onto them.

magicbus 08-05-2005 10:16 PM

I like Robin Trower, but I've never heard Procol Harum. How are they / send me an album?

Leper 08-06-2005 12:31 AM
The only Procal Harum song I know is the sublime A Whiter Shade Of Pale. I have no desire to hear any more of their material, I think they're perfect the way they are.

I reviewed Neil Young's After The Goldrush. Help a wigga out and rate/comment.
Well written man, i really enjoyed that. What an incredible album..

Broken Arrow 08-06-2005 08:10 AM

I've only heard their radio hits but they were good. All 2 of them.

Badmoon 08-06-2005 11:06 AM

"After the Gold Rush" (the song) is terrible, just soo cheasy.

Walrus Gumboot 08-06-2005 03:01 PM

*bump*

My little sister came, sat down at the computer, and deleted the Sigur Ros album I just uploaded. Meh.

I saw Jethro Tull in'03, and they were great. I envy you.

Jam2Me 08-06-2005 03:19 PM

Jethro Tull came and went near me, I wasn't interested in going since I don't like them at all.

I won't be able to upload AoTS and Surrealistic Pillow until Monday at the earliest :-/

Tull are coming to Glenside, PA or something. I'm not sure how far that is from here though.

Broken Arrow 08-06-2005 03:34 PM

I think Tull migght be coming to Toronto or London soon, I'd go.

No Problem

Looks like Jethro Tull is playing at my friendly local indian casino :)

Jam2Me 08-06-2005 04:03 PM

I love the part of "25 Minutes To Go" from Live at Folsom when Johnny says '..so I laughed in his face and I spit in his eye..' and all the prisoners start roaring and cheering.

Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest.

BludgeonySteve 08-06-2005 04:06 PM
I wasn't interested in going since I don't like them at all.
I don't believe you. That's impossible.
