I wouldn't mind it, actually.
It'd get you good and fired in America if it was another lady person proposing, but still....

Ideally I'd like to be proposed to infront of a ton of people with a hugely expensive platinum ring at about 10 o'clock at night under the stars. And we're going to have a huge expensive wedding and I'm going to have a lovely black dress and hair cut just below my ears. Of course I'd be tanned and fit, and she'd be fantastically sexy and asian in a black tuxedo with a big top hat with her shorty-lenghty hair poking out.
I suppose it'd be useless, though.

I don't fantasize about marrying my girlfriend.
Uh oh.

Tim 03-06-2006 06:28 PM

so the person i bought the AA crash on ebay from finally got the money order today. Should have the cymbal by friday. :D woot.

Sick-O 03-06-2006 06:33 PM

^^ Sweet bro..

moogoogaipan 03-06-2006 06:33 PM

so, UT is having 4 prominent people try out to fill our new percussion director position. It's kind of fun, we get to drill these doctors of percussion and ask them all sorts of specific questions to see if how they would handle our studio.

So far we've had
Mark Douglass... least experience (collegiate teaching wise) but a diamond in the rough for sure... my #1 pick

then today we had
Scott Harris... reminds me of John Travolta. Real nice guy, and an extremely accomplished percussionist. I still would prefer Mark.

two more, but I don't know who they are yet.
Well, guys, I didn't want to do this, but I'm going to have to. There's auditions for a gig in two days, on Wednesday.

Problem: we don't have a drummer. I was hoping one of you guys could help me out. All I need is a backing track for this song right here, something to play in the background while the rest of us perform the song.

http://rapidshare.de/files/14874866/12_Dobara_Phir_Say__Acoustic_.mp3.html

Again, I've been looking around for weeks for a drummer, but no one is available, or if they are, they just can't play the song.

I didn't want to make a separate thread just for this, and from my experience in strongholds, these are usually full of good people, so I'm hoping one of you guys, or girls, can help me out here.

Thanks.
no one? :upset:

styler 03-06-2006 07:45 PM

it takes more than two days to come up with even a ****ty recording. not counting if you want it in time. not to mention. not everyone has a studio in there basement they can just run downstairs to record on. if your band needs a drummer, i wouldnt do a gig without one either. a recording wont cut it for most gigs.

moogoogaipan 03-06-2006 07:46 PM
no one? :upset:
actually... I might be able to help out. Let me see though.

Bloodlust 03-06-2006 08:19 PM

i didn't wanna make a whole thread about this so......what is the equivlent of a Remo CS Amb, in Evans heads?

o and how are the Evans Power Center heads? I heard they were a little harder to tune.

Josiah 03-06-2006 08:23 PM

Bloodlust 03-06-2006 08:25 PM

Sweet, thanks a lot man. You have no idea how much I appreciate this. From what I can tell, IMO the song isn't that hard, it's just that we don't have a kit at the moment.

I know it's hard, just wondering if anyone here is talented enough to check it out. I bet I could play this song, and I'm not even a drummer, it's not that hard. As I just said, we don't have a drumset, so it's gonna be kinda hard. This song is just a little acoustic version, so it's not gonna be too bad.

poppinfresh 03-06-2006 09:11 PM

how important is quality to you mr junooni

Jezen 03-06-2006 09:14 PM

I could do it in about 14 or 15 hours from now.

Junooni 03-06-2006 09:17 PM

Depends, what are you using? If it's a PC Mic, I don't know, it might be able to pass for auditions on Wednesday, but if someone could do a better quality version by March 31st, the day of the gig, that would be awesome.

BB, that would be perfect. So you mean around noon EST time tomorrow?

poppinfresh 03-06-2006 09:21 PM

no i have one mic, i was just wondering how much time i should spend with the mic placement since i can only get one one there. Ill try to get one on if i can. Im still getting the song though, i have dial up.

Junooni 03-06-2006 09:23 PM

Oh, cool. At this point, anything you can do is great. Thanks for the help, guys.

Jezen 03-06-2006 09:24 PM

I dunno. Around 5'ish GMT.

Junooni 03-06-2006 09:27 PM

Same thing. :thumb:

Jezen 03-06-2006 09:28 PM

Oh perfect. I gotta wait half an hour to download the file. Looks like i'll be awake till 4 am....

Junooni 03-06-2006 09:35 PM

I just found out that Steppenwolf and the Steve Miller Band are coming to cities near me in the next couple of months. Hope I can get tickets.

LoneStarDrummer 03-06-2006 09:47 PM

is it just me or does music from the steve miller band make for the ultimate road trip album. everytime i hear a song from them i wish i was with freinds out on the open road with the top down and radio blarring.

poppinfresh 03-06-2006 09:57 PM

steve miller has an excellent drummer. just listen, its the most tasteful crap youll ever hear.

junooni, how do you want the drums, the same thing or something ocmpletly different as long as it fits? what do you want? oh and wat language is this in?

Junooni 03-06-2006 10:02 PM

If you can get the same thing, that'd be great, but if you've got something similar, not too different, that fits, that's even better.

Double Bass Jim 03-06-2006 11:28 PM
