Anthology 2 (both discs):
hxxp://s40.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=13GH8AOLYX8BZ0N80I5H7BT2DY

The anthologies have studio outtakes and stuff. They're worth getting, as they have very few (if any) tracks that were released on albums.

Distant Echoes 09-05-2005 07:08 PM

Ill get it then, but my comp cant do .rar files for some reason. I have a friend wholl give it to me.

DeusExMachina 09-05-2005 07:32 PM

Download winrar. Then .rar files won't be a problem.

magicbus 09-05-2005 07:42 PM

Thanks again man :thumb:

DeusExMachina 09-05-2005 07:58 PM

No problem. Glad to help.

Welcome to the light. We're glad to have another enlightened one. What were you listening to?

magicbus 09-05-2005 08:31 PM

Man this Anthology is sweet. I love to hear different takes of songs like this. I think my dad might have 3, I'll have to check that out too.

DeusExMachina 09-05-2005 08:32 PM

I love the anthology version of Rocky Raccoon. It's unbelievable. Especially when McCartney messes up the vocals and jokes around about it.

Also, I like in the Let it Be Sessions when McCartney is singing Let it Be, and he just sort of mumbles after the first verse.

magicbus 09-05-2005 08:35 PM

The version of And Your Bird Can Sing where they're all cracking up is hilarious. I'll check out those other one's now.

DeusExMachina 09-05-2005 08:53 PM

Rocky Raccoon isn't on anthology 2. I'm not sure which one it's on, as 2 is the only one on my computer at the moment.
Rocky Raccoon isn't on anthology 2. I'm not sure which one it's on, as 2 is the only one on my computer at the moment.
It's on Anthology 3, Disc 1
It's on Anthology 3, Disc 1
Thanks very much.

The Let it Be Sessions version of Across the Universe is way better than the released version. I know it's been said already, but I felt it was my duty to reiterate. Holy crap, that song is good.

I love the harmonies in it so much. The rough audio and ocassional curses add to the charm, the same reason I prefer the Anthology version of "Tomorrow Never Knows" to the Revolver version

DeusExMachina 09-05-2005 09:23 PM

Yeah, the only problem for me with the ATU is that two second silent period in the middle. Also, I'm not so sure about McCartney's vocal fills, but I don't really mind them per se.

Thank you very much! I've never heard these before. That's on my to-do list for tomorrow.

DeusExMachina 09-05-2005 09:46 PM

Glad to help. If I finish homework tomorrow before 9 or 10, I'll upload anthologies 1 and 3.

I have 2 and 3. I cant remember but on one of the songs A glass breaks and John jokes about it. Do you remember what song it is on?

Senor_Whippy 09-06-2005 03:53 AM

Has anyone heard Paul's new stuff yet.

Ulysses 09-06-2005 03:57 AM

Not as yet but I would like to hear it.

Senor_Whippy 09-06-2005 04:01 AM

It's been done with that Radiohead producer so I hope it's a bit of a departure from Driving Rain

Here you can get a 30 second clip here!

Radiohead isn't that good, to me they song just like everyother metal band

Jacaranda 09-06-2005 07:04 AM

Uh, sure.

I love What Is Life such a good song.

Ulysses 09-06-2005 07:07 AM

Like every other metal band, mmm I don't know about that somehow. The Bends and OK Computer are pretty awesome albums if you take the time to listen to them properly.

I edited that out using Audacity.

I like how Paul forgets a lot of the vocals if you listen, it's great.

MBS 09-06-2005 02:03 PM

Can we quit the Radiohead talk?

It's the BEATLES thread. :(

IAJP 09-06-2005 02:28 PM

I finally got Revolver today.

Rubber Soul is way better

JonG 09-06-2005 02:31 PM
I finally got Revolver today.

I like Rubber Soul a lot better. Probably my favorite Beatles album.

For me:

Rubber Soul>Abbey Road>Revolver>MMT>Sgt. Peppers

IAJP 09-06-2005 02:34 PM

It just has about every advantage on all their other albums.

Also:

Gene Wilder > Johnny Depp,

Your list is a perfect one at that, exactly the same as mine at that.

DeusExMachina 09-06-2005 02:47 PM

w00t. Awesome. Thanks.

Gene Wilder >>>>>> Johnny Depp.

That top 5 beatles albums list... the top 4 listed are all so good, it's hard for me to decide between them.

Jacaranda 09-06-2005 03:35 PM

What MMT!? That is my favorite album by them, every song minus one could've been a single.
Abbey Road is probably my least favorite because I can't stand She's So Heavy thats one of the worst songs I've heard.

MMT > Revolver = Rubber Soul > Sgt. Pep's > Abbey Road > White Album

rockinbass17 09-06-2005 03:41 PM

At risk of being called a front runner, I'm gonna have to say The White Album is my fav. Sorry, I never got the deal with Abbey Road. It's good, but I woudn't say brilliant.

White> MMT> Revolver= Rubber Soul> Help! (yep, that's right, Help!)> Sgt. Pepper

DeusExMachina 09-06-2005 03:44 PM

I actually think MMT is probably the overall best. Every song on it is absolute quality.

Jacaranda 09-06-2005 03:47 PM

I can't stand the White Album, it may be because I haven't listened to it without doing anything but its just really bland, it has its spots but nothing that I would listen to alot. Although Helter Skelter is my favorite Paul song.

WelcomeToTheMachine 09-06-2005 04:17 PM

could someone please upload the Beatles Anthology 1&3?

MBS 09-06-2005 04:25 PM

I'll upload Anthology 3 tonight, if I find time.

DeusExMachina 09-06-2005 04:37 PM

I might upload another one tonight, but I'm awfully busy.

Woodstock 09-06-2005 05:13 PM

That's what I thought for a long time, but I gave Revolver another listen, and I found it much better.
I'll upload Anthology 3 tonight, if I find time.
Would be greatly appreciated.

robo2448 09-06-2005 05:35 PM

Revolver was my 2nd Beatle album, after Rubber Soul. I didn't like it nearly as much as Rubber Soul the first few times. But it really grows on you, and now I consider them both amazing and pretty much equal.
