Anyone have the Majesty demo?
|
Yeh, I bought it off YTSE Jam.com It's alright, the first demo is better though. the Berkley Demos. They sound so much like Rush. And They cover YYz on it as well.

I have e-mailed the following questions for you it will be a few days untill I get a reply probably but I will keep you posted.
I know Beatallica are coming to the U.K next year, I am not sure if Dream Theater are with them... Its a possibillity... Any Ideas Stark Effect? when are DT going to do a proper tour of the UK? Mike, will you please, if not for yourself then for me, do another Transatlantic album? Can you put my name on it?Please? Ask if they plan to do another concept album. |
I meant can you put my name on the question. Not can you put my name on the album.
 |
I meant can you put my name on the question. Not can you put my name on the album.
lol, It would be funny if he put your name on the album lol... Yes, I did modify it to say you name :thumb: |
What did you put my name as? Did you get it off my profile?
|

Think about how cool that would be. |
Kai: The new album by Transatlantic. I doubt there's any chance of Neal Morse re-joinging though :upset:
I hope Daniel Gildenlow is a regular fixture and has a place in the band on the new album. |
Hey, does everyone here already know about all the nuggets in Octavarium? I always knew there were some, but I've recently discovered that the album is loaded with them, no exaggeration.
|
Yeh, like the intervals in the 'Intervals' section of the title-track?
|
Well check this one out..
Listen to track 1. The key is F. Then at the beginning of track two very carefully.. you will hear a ringing tone that is the note f#..the black note above f. The actual song is in G, and at the very end, crank the volume.. you will hear the last note rising slowly.. and it hits G#!!! The next song is in A, and the end of that is in the key of, you guessed it, A#. This goes on for the whole album.. until, the last song, Octavarium, is in the key of F again!! The whole idea is that the album is in one constant circle, it forms one long "octave".. fitting, considering the album title. There are tons more in the booklet, ask if you're interested. |
Wow you've confused me, but if that's true then it's pretty neat.

I'll make it more straightforward.. Look on a keyboard. There are 8 white notes, and 5 black notes from F to F. So in total, 13 semitones from F to F, including both Fs.
Well, there are eight tracks.. and... you know the in between tracks, with the "-" sign in front of the running time?? There are five of those in total!!!! I really wish I could go into more detail, but alas I have to go. I'll get back to this topic tomorrow. |

I've realized today that I'd previously vastly underrated Scenes from a Memory.
|
Anyone know where I can get Majesty's album/demo or whatever it was? I heard them play a song from it live and thought it was awesome.

Off of YtseJam Records http://www.ytsejamrecords.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=11 All of DT's official Bootlegs are released there. I plan on picking up WDADRU from there eventually. |

You're correct it is absolutely jam packed with them, check out this site: http://dt.spatang.com/octavarium.php Also does everyone know about the nugget in In The Name Of God? Starting at 5:50, JR plays "EAT MY *** AND BALLS" in morse code! No joke! |
I know. I'm a member on DTFAQ.com and we spent about 6 months trying to figure out what the nugget what after M.P told us there was one on the song.
|
i sooo saw dream theater the other day
best gig of my life! |

Why do I now think that DT have way too much time on their hands?
|
There are absolutly loads of nuggets, some of them are just stupid and pointless though. Most of them probably weren't intensional, but fans just found something new and thought it was supposed to be there.
|
Why do I now think that DT have way too much time on their hands?
Because they do. Either that or Berklee (or whatever music school they went to) taught them well. |
Also does everyone know about the nugget in In The Name Of God?

I don't think Berklee taught them to put random crap in their songs. |
I don't think Berklee taught them to put random crap in their songs.
have you been to Berklee? :shifty: Nah I'm kidding. I think they all sat down and came with ideas for stuff they could hide in the album if you know what I mean. |
I agree. But still, they could have been writing songs that Don't sound like U2 or Muse :p .
|
Ugh yeah. Even though I like Muse an all.
|

Apperently 'These Walls' is a ripoff of a Linkin Park song too, although I've not seen the website where they have the mp3s playing next to each other. I can't say for sure because I've not listened to Linkin Park since I was 13/14. It's pretty strange how I despise Linkin Park but don't mind 'These Walls', and how I'm indifferent to Muse but love 'Panic Attack' and 'Never Enough'. Also, does anyone else get a 'Sing For Absolution' vibe from the verse in 'Sacrificed Sons'? |
is this true? /doesn't know morse code but if it's true, holy...
If thats really true, thats increadably sad... I mean, their like 40, they should have some more maturity than that... |
It is true.

He doesn't seem like the guy who would do that though, maybe MP or something. :p Why are you guys so unimpressed?? I was totally enthused when I realized how many nuggets were in Octavarium.. I don't think its so bad, either. Some good tracks on there. |
