I bought the last Husker Du album my store had to offer today.
/me high fives Zappa, and Nacho |
Husker Du was just one of the many, many artists that every shop I went to today seemed to be sold out of, or pricing far too high.
|
What did you end up purchasing?
|
I just got 1 rep point, on a post that I made over a year ago... :amaze:
Crazy kids. |
Haha. You lucky guy.
|
It's stormy outside.
|
I'm so tired. 2 nights ago, I had a movie night with some mates and that went all night. Then I couldn't sleep the next night and today I had to do 12 ks of walking and then I had to walk my dog after I got home.
|
That's wickidy wickidy whack. Go to bed my man.
|
Well, I'm off shopping.
I've invited the mixtape girl, but I don't know whether she's coming yet. :-* |
Yeah, Husker Du cds are all 15 and up around here.
It sucks. But I got both Pavement Reissue for 9 dollars each so I can't say anything |
What did you end up purchasing?
Me? I ended up getting nothing by Husker Du. Good though they may be, I'm not going to spend £16 on any CD I'll conceivably find in the stores available to me. Especially not when there was a Gang of Four album right next to it for £8. |
I didn't mean by Husker Du, I meant overall, since their CDs were too pricey.
|
My shopping trip yeilded the following albums.
Tom Waits - Bone Machine Jeff Buckley - Sketches For Your Sweetheart The Drunk (I lost Disc 2 ages ago, and only had it on CD-R anyway) Dead Prez - Let's Get Free Miles Davis - Porgy & Bess Def Leppard - Best Of The Def Leppard album was for my sister. The other 4 cost me a total of under £25. Not bad, huh? |

Oh ok. I ended up with; The Blueprint - Phenomenology Gang of Four - Solid Gold/Another Day, Another Dollar Kaada/Patton - Romances Plus a Dave Gorman DVD. Pathetically little, considering how long I spent looking. |
Dead Prez - Let's Get Free
That album is awesome. :thumb: |
I just finished the novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" by Philip K. Dick. I haven't read a whole book that wasn't for school since I was in elementary school. It was cool.
|
Haha. I finished up Mostly Harmless recently, which is the 5th part in the Hitchiker's series. I started Closing Time by Joseph Heller, but got bored.
|
^^I'm reading Catch 22 right now.
|
Books are awesome. I'm reading Anthony Kiedis' autobiography at the moment, and I also have two Terry Pratchetts on my 'to read' pile.
|
^^I'm reading Catch 22 right now.
See, that's my favourite book, which is why I tried to read Closing Time. But meh. I also have Memnoch The Devil by Anne Rice, but I probably won't start reading it, since it's due back pretty soon. |
Well, I'm off shopping.

Hello everyone how's it goin? |
Hello, oh new person. How is it with you?
|
Is Dead Prez the group that has the song " I ain't 'fraid to die, I ain't got shit to lose, I'm sick and tired of living in a world full of booze!"
Because the band is hilarious |
it is good, yesh ima new
ima at work right now... kinda bored and just finished watching a movie.. hehe at work.. i love this job how's it goin with you? |
So how did that go?
She didn't show. Which sucks, because I really wanted to talk to her. But I just sent her an e-mail saying my piece. I wanted to do it face-to-face, but - for personal reasons - doing it before New Years was more important. Now I wait on the response. And listen to Miles Davis. I may well end up preferring this (Porgy & Bess) to Sketches Of Spain, which is currently my favourite jazz record. Stunning stuff. The Dead Prez album rules too. I'm just getting to the end of the 'Today' side. |
To everyone that was talking about books earlier in up the page:
Do you ever bail out in the middle of a book to start another one? I tend to find myself doing that a lot. currently, I'm reading: The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene Long Day's Journey Into Night by Eugene O'Neill Hearts in Atlantis by Stephen King and Faithful by Stewart O'Nan/Stephen King |
I need some more books. My Dad has sooo many but all the ones he gives me, I find boring.
|
I used to love reading. But i haven't had the time recently. I've been reading Robinson Crusoe for the last few months. Not a lot happens, but i find it a good book to escape into.
|
New avatar. It's Mark Sandman, most famous (though not famous enough) for his vocals and 2-string bass playing with the band Morphine. Cool.
|
My Creative Zen is so cool. :D
|
I couldn't finish Catch 22, by the way.
|
Am I the only one who gets those "problem with the database"-messages a lot today?
|
I get them a lot every day. MX goes down like whoa.
|
I'm reading Catch-22 right now, after having just finished "Slaughterhouse-Five" by Kurt Vonnegut. Vonnegut's a good author; very unorthodox.
|
I don't get them that often, but today I have almost not been able to browse at all. It's either that, or the page won't load. I get alot of non-loading from my MX pages, not oly today.
Seriously, MX is easily the slowest site of the sites I visit frequently. |
So no one wants to praise my awesome avatar, even for its execution, if not for the awesomeness of the subject matter?
|
yeah i gotten them too... that's why i couldnt get on early it just keep saying something was wrong... hmmm... but i still come back
|
The site is not open.....
It's down again! It's down again! /Chimaira |
