Adam Jones is GOD
What radio station do you listen to? I live near London, and im curious as to what that radio station was you mentioned earlier. |
Thanks for the link, but I think I've tired there before. It was fairly recently that they converted it to paying only. It's too bad my harddrive crashed or I'd still have a decent version of it.
go to www.download.com, theres good file-sharing programs there |
Yeah, I have Limewire and Soulseek, but they don't have a good video selection at all. I'm still trying to find a program that uses the same network as Kazaa, but I have yet to.
|
Hey G_Mac07 a while ago you posted a band that sounded like tool, I downloaded that and just chucked them in a folder called: CoG. But now I have forgotten their actual name  So would you be able to inform me of there name?
|

this is r0under. Go to Kazaa.com. DL kazaa. Do a search fpr kazaa lite. DL. Uninstall kazaa. Install kazaa lite. Haven't done this in a year but you shouldn't have a problem finding it. |
Ha. Never thought of that. I think I'll try that, thanks.
|
^ I got the same bullshit error you got Kage, it said to e-mail the guy so I did...
Now I silently wait for a reply... But I got back in line for Ticks live anyway. |

Well, earlier today I opened up 6 windows and got all six. Niiiice.
|
Its not a corrupt system though Kage, a few months ago I downloaded The Grudge, Lateralus, Parabola video, and The Patient.
It just seems to be out of wack right now. |
I got Third Eye, 46&2, The Grudge, Intolerance, and Stinkfist... All live.
|
Agghh. Maybe tonight I'll start them and have them ready (hopefully) for when I get up. I was half kidding about the corrupt system, but until I can see otherwise I'm staying with my accusations :p

Heh sounds fair.

Hey fellow Tool maniacs... I was about to make a thread about tool and what people thought of them until i saw this shining beacon of hope that this forum can appreciate black metal in all its beauty.
I've been a Tool fan for about a year now, and I still havent gotten over any of their stuff. Its as if i'm listening to it for the first time, but with a better understanding of the harmonics and extravagence of it all. Anyway- What do you visualise when listening to Tool? What do you associate with them and their music? A friend of mine put his interpretation of them in a very unique way... He said that listening to tool is like walking into a house where there are images on the walls, like wall paper, and as one walks through the house of tool, the images move and flow down the walls like water... Although, this was said after tripping and listening to them. Please, I'd like to hear what you visualise when listening to Tool... I'll post my own in a few replys. |
Oh god...
|
Anybody know why Tool's music videos are so wierd?I just watched Schism and i was like, " :amaze: Jesus tapdancing Christ that was the most wierd-ass thing I've ever saw".
|
The Parabol/Parabola video is weirder. Trust me.
|

Tools black metal? Did I miss something... did the new album come out without my knowing...what year is this... |
No one thinks Stinkfist is wierd?
|
Yeah, but the Parabol/Parabola video blew my mind. I just loved the part where it exploded into Parabola. That's a great video.
|

Yup, that's their best. Got that one from sputnik7. I thought the best live performance was The Grudge in NY. Awesome. |
No one thinks Stinkfist is wierd?
If your talking about a thread I made a while ago, I said the sound was like Tool meets The Butterfly Effect. That bands name is Cog, and they are probably the best up and coming band in Australia right now (my opinion). Here's "Third Eye Open - The String Tribute to Tool" doing The Patient http://l1.yousendit.com/d.php?id=3F5R1PVWCD8G01H7LE36NW8SGS |
Mac, the link didn't work. Do you think you could upload some of Cog as well? They sound very interesting. Hell, anything with Tool influence sounds very interesting. :p
|
The link didn't work for me either :\ I was excited.
|
bugger....
/goes to fix link kombacha, I'll find my old thread, it has perma links in it. Remember it's not Tool though, it's an influence. |
Try this

Ah...download in progress. Thanks a lot :thumb:
|
I'm glad it's working. :thumb:
Here's the old Cog thread. Don't bump it, but use the links to get songs. http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=299215 |
Hey, what's everybody's favorite T00L guitar riff?
|
End of Third Eye
|
I just watched Ticks & Leeches live. It was pretty crazy... Maynard had to use that synthesizer on his voice though, and it sounded cool some parts but some other parts were kinda crappy. Oh well overall it was a great performance band wise.

http://s33.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3IKWJ3QC1C9G13R69NTV5BLD7X
Wow, I really enjoyed hearing that. I might pick up that CD if I find it cheap enough. |
Hey, what's everybody's favorite T00L guitar riff?
The part at the Patient ("I must keep reminding myself of this") Jimmy intro Pushit intro. The ending of Parabola. |
Wow, I really enjoyed hearing that. I might pick up that CD if I find it cheap enough.
I'm tempted to now, but there's too many CDs I need to buy first. |
I'd have to say the chorus/delay riff in 'H' is fairly pristine.
The intro riff to Ænima is also pretty cool. |
His riffing isn't necessarily my favorite part of what he does. I love the way he fills up space and his rhythmic driving, as well as the way he can build tension and release it with his playing, and he usually doesn't use more than one track for his guitar on the recordings. His textures are so unique as well because of the different chord spacings and Non-Chord tones he employs into his playing. Not to mention a good plethora of kickass riffs.
He's my favorite guitarist for his unique ability to construct songs employing so many different sounds, textures and a variety of stylings and movement on his parts in one song. |
^^ Ive always noticed that aspect of his guitar playing, Its the space of sound he fills with great riffs.
