So I saw this on TB and threw up a little in my mouth.

11 string Wishbass.
Jeez... that must've set him back about $20.
It still screws over poor countries because then they can't impose tarrifs that would help make them money and boost their economy, therefore, screwed.
A Third World country is more likely to become industrialized in a global environment, then if it has to purchase it's goods from countries who already impose those tariffs. I agree that unfettered globalization will only lead to exploitation and profitering, but that's why I favour a gradual process.

hey people

 Probably.

God, it's so disgusting.

One of my favorite ERB's of all time
Oh, whoops. What am I thinking of then?

We drove through the McGill campus. It's pretty huge.
Last time I was there, I had a hotel right near it. I must have a fairly strange psychological make-up if I went and stared through the fence at it every day.

Concordia is supposed to be more art-oriented though.

But chances of it actually happening the way it should so that everyone benefits are quite slim, which is why I hold my stance against it.

blizzard 10-04-2006 09:53 PM

I just threw up for real but not as a result of that wish :amaze:

Mr. Pickle 10-04-2006 09:53 PM

quite frankly, i just find anything over 6 strings to just be ridiculous.

I'd bet that the strings cost more than the bass.

I think it's inevitable, it's just a question of how long it will take. At the point where our technology is made accessible, which it has to be some day, the world will have no choice but to be united or already destroyed.

HELLonWHEELS 10-04-2006 09:55 PM

I haven't ever gotten my hands on anything higher than a 6 string bass

Spaceman Spiff 10-04-2006 09:55 PM
quite frankly, i just find anything over 6 strings to just be ridiculous.
Any reasoning behind that?

People who buy them have a purpose for them, so it's not ridiculous to them.

i agree, how much 'extended range' can even the most prolific of soloists need? :amaze:

Ahh. Well... if cheapness eventually wins out, you can always come and crash at my place. STU is ranked pretty high nationally for their arts education, so you wouldn't be compensating too much.

It wouldn't surprise me. Wishnevsky seriously has to be one of the worst builders out there.

Nah just had a little too much to drink last night.

Cynicism ftw?

hahaha, you're probably right. I'll be dead before either, I'm pretty sure.

Did you hear about Zorn getting a $500 000 Genius Grant?

You shouldn't drink when you're pregnant, I hope you know that.....

lawl.

The_Red_Death 10-04-2006 10:00 PM

My god, that bass is hideous. Not to mention wicked heavy, and horribly, horribly impractical.

By the way, Ben:

Clone High ftw.

well, i meant mainly for me. it just seems that when you have so many higher strings, you're just wandering out of bass territory.

blizzard 10-04-2006 10:01 PM

HAHAHA I shouldn't drink at all.

I was too drunk to pick my parents up from the airport this morning and I woke up to them telling me that I'm drunk :(

One of my friend's is moving to Salmon Arm, by the way.
