Wow, that sucks. I could probably get some good black metal there. I should probably look but I like to stick to downloading that kind of stuff because I usually like black metal in spurts better than over long stretches.

The first thing Alexi says is "Cause to loose all". Its the lyrics to the song and you can hear him say it again in the pre chorus, but i don't know what the next bit is since i don't speak finnish. |

Thats awesome. Is it as hard to write that way as me or am i just like that? It kinda feels like some of the stuff doesnt fit but does at the same time
It can be very hard to do. Focus on learning your theory and using disharmony. |
This is a question of curiosity...but does anyone here like Dimmu Borgir?
|
I love them. Very talented band.
I love them. Very talented band.
Really?? Recently (as in a few months ago) I discovered I like them. Ever since I had first heard Death Cult Armageddon I hated that band with a firey passion. I downloaded For All Tid just to give them a fair chance, but in the end I thought they were nothing more than a bunch of anti-Christs from Norway who favored symphonic sounds and a blasphemous image over actually playing music. But then, a few months ago, a friend of mine (who also loves them) burned me DCA and Enthrone Darkness Triumphant. I still dislike DCA, but EDT I loved. It had some very cool melodies - like old Cradle of Filth with a symphonic atmosphere. I just downloaded For All Tid and Stormblast to see what those are like again. NP: Dimmu Borgir - In Death's Embrace |
Bodom was never a gateway to black metal type bands for me. I don't understand why a bunch of Bodom fans like CoF and Dimmu Borgir, Bodom really isn't anything like them if you ask me. I think it makes more sense that I listen to powermetal.
|
Since when are people confined to bands that all sound similar? It's called "diverse taste". I love Bodom, I love CoF and lately DB, and I also love bands that sound nothing like any of those.
|
I'm not saying your now allowed to, but an excess of people do. It leads me to believe there is some connection between them.
|
Actually Angels Don't Kill kinda sounds like Dimmu Borgir.....
|
Well HCDR and AYDY aren't like old Bodom. I agree about Angels Don't Kill, it almost kind of sounds like melodeath to me a little bit in the solo.
|

Wha...? I never thought anything Bodom has done sounds remotely like Dimmu... |
Well newer Dimmu like the song, POTGA.
|
Well newer Dimmu like the song, POTGA.
I guess that makes more sense. Earlier Dimmu was quite black metal and extremely symphonic. |
Yeah I know what older Dimmu sounds like but but I usually take a bands sound for what they've progressed into.
I like how in the booklet for FTR it says Bodom would let these people live: and goes into the thank you's. |
Eh, Dimmu sounds nothing like Bodom. They barely even sound like Black Metal.
|
I like how in the booklet for FTR it says Bodom would let these people live: and goes into the thank you's.
I like how they do that too. Like in HCDR when it says "Children of Bodom would buy the following people a beer:" and it goes into thank you's, and then "Chidlren of Bodom would smash the bottle over the heads of the following people:" and they put down various people they hate. |
Well listen to Angels Don't Kill and then listen to Progenies of the Great Apocalypse. I mean they both are newer sides of the band and the older sides don't sound anything like each other but still those two songs were similar.
Who here likes the cover of Burn in Hell by Dimmu because I kinda like it. |
HCDR was a weird album because some songs didn't sound like any of the others, liek Angels Don't Kill and Sixpounder. The other albums all seemed to maintain a similar sound.

New Dimmu is more of a slower, synth-laden chugging sound with a lot of screaming, which is basically the same as Angels Don't Kill.
Who here likes the cover of Burn in Hell by Dimmu because I kinda like it.
Never heard it. |
The original is Twisted Sister but I'll upload Dimmu Borgir's cover. It's off the bonus disc from DCA. I liked For All Tid and Stormblast better than that one but I decided to buy it after hearing the Burn in Hell cover.

HCDR I can listen to most often of their albums. It's still not my favorite CoB album, but I've listened to it most from Start to Finish. That should probably make it my favorite, but whatever it's not. |
I've listened to it most from Start to Finnish.
 You had an opportunity for the best pun ever right there. |
There's Burn in Hell by Dimmu Borgir.
