METALLICA will release a DVD collection of all the promotional videos it has made, entitled "The Videos 1989-2004", on December 5 in North America (one day earlier internationally).
Commented the band in a posting on its web site: "We've been getting requests for many years to release all the promotional videos on DVD and it's finally happening! In addition to every video we've ever made, for the first time ever, the '2 of One' release (which up until now has only been available on VHS) will be available on DVD. Also included is 'Mama Said', which never aired in North America, maybe not even anywhere in the world, and a few little extras such as 'The Unforgiven' theatrical version and the 'Some Kind Of Monster' film trailer. Plus, all the audio has been re-mixed in 5.1 surround sound. "Look for the DVD at your favorite music store on December 4 in most of the world, December 5 in North America. Keep an eye on the Metallica.com store for more details on how you can pre-order your copy...coming soon!" "The Videos 1989-2004" track listing: 01. One (7:41) 02. Enter Sandman (5:28) 03. The Unforgiven (6:21) 04. Nothing Else Matters (6:24) 05. Wherever I May Roam (6:05) 06. Sad But True (5:26) 07. Until It Sleeps (4:32) 08. Hero Of The Day (4:30) 09. Mama Said (4:51) 10. If most of it is music videos I wouldn't bother getting that. They probably couldn't release a DVD now that would top Live Shit:Binge and Purge imo.
|
So pumped, just fixed my Ibanez, I now have two guitars! :p
I was getting bored of the PS-6 :upset: |
The Mama said video was never released?
I've seen it on MTV2. |
The Mama said video was never released?
I've seen it on MTV2.
Really? I've never seen it on any show, but I live in the states... so it might be a little different. |
Yeah, it's really nothing special, just James in the back of a car in a studio with a tape playing backgrounds as if the cars driving round.
It's probably on Youtube. |
I just found out that with the S&M DVD you can listen to just the band or just the orchestra, I never knew that, that's so cool!
sweet, without metallica in it, it might acually be decent to listen to. |
Hey, I have a cheap Fender Frontman amp, and an Ibanez RG series guitar (Don't know what model exactly, but it has 2 pickups, 6 strings, tremolo, tone and volume knobs etc, I think it's a beginner's guitar), I still have my Jackson PS-6, but this Ibanez is so much lighter and easier to carry around, I'm thinking of using it more...
What's a good thrash sound setting for my amp, if you guys know (I'm sure someone will :)), something heavy, sort of like Disposable Heroes tone... Well, as close a sound as possible... |

 Sorry, I just found that part hilarious. :D |
Well tbh it only has 5 atm, but I thought there was an RG series guitar that did have 7 strings?
|
There sure is :)
|
Speaking of RGs, is the 320 FA any good?

He posted some shock image on the guitar forums to piss off AB and atmit  |
Nevermind Lars caring about money, I just saw the video of them playing the other new song...
jeez, they've let themselves go. |
theres vidoes of them playing new material? are they on any sites other than the metallica vault?

Dunno where the other one is, but I'm sure if you checked YouTube it would be there :thumb: |
It's okay.
A lot better than the stuff on St. Anger |
I am trying not to hate Metallica, I used to love their music and love watching anything that had them in it.
After getting into music so heavily and years after my Metallica are gods moments, they are so hard to even watch. I don't even know why I thought they were so cool. I am not even religious and I feel I should pray that their next album is good. |

Hmm. I actually like it. The 'new song' wasn't much chop, but this one's a marked improvement for me. I think it's more similar to Kill'em All than any others. Nice and thrashy. Did it remind anyone else of Phantom Lord? Might've just been me... |
It reminded me more of Motorbreath.
Definitely something off of KEA. |
The thrash is definitely there. A lot of oldskool punk influence as well.
|
I used to be a big Metallica fan about a year ago but now I hardly listen to them, MOST of their stuff just doesn't appeal to me anymore. Their new stuff is an improvement but still nothing special imo.

Yep, I think it's awesome, I love the raw thrash like kill 'em all :smash: |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjGPkIFO8_I
What? That wasn't bad at all. Apart from holding Rob up from going to the gym, he didn't cuss Rob or anything. What was so bad about it? And that 'Other New Song' was fecking amazing! |

Thats just the sort of stuff Jason was put through when he first came into Metallica.
I recently just purchased the box set Live & Binge Purge. Oh my god, its hard to believe they were actually that amazing live when you compare them to nowhere days. Whiplash from the San Diego concert, that raised the hairs on the back of my neck. |

Whiplash from the San Diego concert, that raised the hairs on the back of my neck.
I believe that the Seattle 89 is an example of when they were in their prime. James voice had a great mixture of growl and melody, the guitar tones were amazing, the drums were really good, and everything was nice, tight and fast. So good. |
i heard jason told them "why make a song with 10 riffs when you can make 10 songs"
is that true? |
It would make sense. But then a song with ten riffs would be mighty fine
Bit repetitive though  |
their first 4 albums had some variation of riffs. like the black album (jasons second album with metallica) it was all repeditive. James: "I make 1 riff and that is the meat of the whole song" -from black album dvd
|
It would make sense. But then a song with ten riffs would be mighty fine

I think thats the joke.
|
thats the only way it seems like i can play guitar, many riffs. i always want to record with my friends ,but i cant just cant keep playing repetatively and my riffs are never the same.
is that considered a bad thing? |

I agree. That's my favourite live Metallica gig ever. BLACKENED!!!

God damn it's been forever
