right so forget my post there I seem to have fixed the old one...it seems that the scrob file got deleted from my computer, causing the bugger ups...this should fix it and I can just not use my new one
the point is...if ever it came a point when I got recognised and was awarded stars... I wouldn't care who else got them... at the moment though I am getting a "why did that little wanker get them and I didn't?" sort of feeling
I think everyone feels that a little bit in any sort of contest, but you have to realize you don't see everything that gets done, and neither do the mods, so you have to just appreciate what they do see and trust they're doing the right thing.

This happens to me every once in a while. When my computer freezes up/shuts down while I have Window Media Player open, it always automatically turns off all additional plug-ins. This may have happened to you.

Is this song death metal?

Kage 08-29-2005 07:40 PM

Is that King Crimson song in reference to The Dark Tower?

Lord Abortion 08-29-2005 07:40 PM

"It wears him out...it wears him out..."

yeah well...I just don't agree that some users deserve their stars...you and alex and jake do, but I'm not sure about some others

Kage: are you referring to my new favourite series of books?

Kage 08-29-2005 07:45 PM

That I am.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-29-2005 07:45 PM
Is that King Crimson song in reference to The Dark Tower?
I'm honestly not sure, but if you could tell me when the series of books started, that may help me.

Ollie- I agree with what you said about some users. If it was up to me, I wouldn't have stars, as I feel there are some people that deserve them more than me, but eh, whatever. I don't mind having the priviledge, as I put it to great use in the guitar forum.

Lord Abortion 08-29-2005 07:46 PM

I bloody love these novels, I read the first three in about two days lat week and am nearly done wizard and glass now, they are the best thing he has ever written IMO.

Jake, I added you to my people who deserve it list

/me doesn't :upset:

I put mine to use in Pop-Punk, since there's no active mod there I can reward good users and I like that.

I would say, yes. Take it to the death metal thread if you want to be certain.

Not really, the breakdown that begins at 1 minute abouts makes it fairly un death metal. Those kind of breakdowns dont really work in death metal at all. It has death metal elements, but is it a death metal song? i wouldnt listen to it and think death metal, metalcore is what comes to mind.

The style of drumming throughout the entire song isnt very characteristic of death metal either. While the riffs could work for death metal, i find that one of the big differences between DM and metalcore is within the style of drumming more than anything.

The drumming in the part after 3 minutes or so shows exactly what i mean.

Lord Abortion 08-29-2005 07:55 PM

ah I see, I thought you had to big of a postcount just to post here as you don't seem to post that often here

question: is this Just an award of stars for work in R&M?

if so then why has Ramsey been awarded them?
he posts less than MX in here :p

Oh, well I was actually referring to doing the opposite, as Guitar is basically full of spamming bastards who just want their 'lod back. Most of the regs there are now posting on a forum that was created by someone who was overly pissed about the loss of their beloved spamhole. Now, MC 307 is making be a regular there.

Endless Obsession 08-29-2005 07:56 PM

Its just who reports stuff, and who Ken likes.

Why did they get rid of the 'lod?

I agree, they're amazing, but they're up against some tough competition. The Stand, in my opinion, is definately his best, and the best book I've ever read.

I'm currently reading three of his books at the same time :p I can't put them down.

Jake: The Dark Tower series was truly started in the seventies, but I don't know when they were first published. :-\

so here...have my scrob before bed...all 5 tracks of it...
3am nearly, I need bed

Arucard 08-29-2005 07:58 PM

That is very true, but even if i was offered these stars, i would decline. I would prefer to reach them by getting 1,000 reputation, but i guess thats just me.

Yeah, I post all over, here, Pop-Punk, The Pit, S&L, Site...

This is just for R&M though yes, I already asked Ken about that.

No idea.

I figured as much, but you can neg and I'll pos and all balances out :D

EDIT: I don't feel too guilty about it, as I'm about 80 something away anyways.
Its just who reports stuff, and who Ken likes.

Both mod Chris's realized that Guitar started going downhill when the 'lod was turned into a free for all spamfest, so they decided to do away with it.

TBF's idea in the first place, and most people really aren't fond of him, including myself. In my poll that was in the Featured songs questions, reccomendations, etc.. thread, TBF was the only person who said FS's were a bad idea. It's not just for that that I think he's an idiot, but, yeah, I guess I took my post on a giant tangent here.

At school I'm a "Business Tech Intern", which is just fancy talk for being a teacher's aid in a computer class, and we get to use these apple laptops for the year. I was wondering if anyone knows if it's easy to get on the internet with Macs?

RiceMonster 08-29-2005 09:09 PM

Yay, I added my first review to sputnik. I have another one on their, but I wrote it before Sputnik was put up.

Should be as easy as double clicking an icon.. Do you know if your school runs on a "airport" type of internet?
Should be as easy as double clicking an icon.. Do you know if your school runs on a "airport" type of internet?
I don't know what you mean by airport type internet. If getting a mac on the internet is just as easy as getting windows on the internet I'll have no problem, I've just never worked on a mac before.

Kurtz 08-29-2005 10:14 PM

Maybe he meant a network? I don't know.

Well, if you mean actually using the internet on a Mac like you would use the internet on a PC, it isn't hard at all.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-29-2005 10:14 PM

Oh, well there should be an internet explorer button. It's just as simple as with Windows. :p

Chippy569 08-29-2005 10:34 PM

yeh, the apple airport is just a built in wi-fi reciever. at least, that's how i understand it.

you should have either a netscape or internet explorer browser built in.

NEVER, EVER, stick with either of those, always get Fire Fox, Netscape and IE are so unstable and have so many more security flaws than you would think are possible.

While we are on the subject of 11 year olds, this is the coolest one ever. He loves Lamb of God, Chimaira, Trivium, Shadows Fall etc.
