Amen to that.I am beyond excited for Returners.
Rec me some metalcore that sends chills through your body!

For me i get that from architects
misery signals
hopesfall
good picks.

Will the new ghost inside album have less breakdowns? Or anything that seperates it from the first?

Endangered Oddity 05-24-2010 05:21 PM

listen to the new tracks they have on their myspace.

adhoc 05-24-2010 05:21 PM

I have the same question about new parkway drive, both bands are mediocre but parkway drive has decent lyrics. Either album have anything different??

Scoot 05-24-2010 05:23 PM

Well, judging from the songs I have heard there aren't as many breakdowns. There are a lot more melodic passages though, so I'm stoked.

Prophets, Deep Blue and Returners will duke it out for the best metalcore album this year IMO

These are so damn good, in the new songs.

SeaAnemone 05-24-2010 05:38 PM

I'm pretty bad at metalcore right now, anyone wanna help me out? I like me some Hopesfall and Skycamefalling - 10.21 though

Scoot 05-24-2010 05:39 PM

Indeed. Chrono is full of 'em, and I really think that the album is going to have to contain a shitload more to stand out from the jun-jun-jun crowd.

Agreed that was my main problem with their first album, and I think they may have fixed it.

SeaAnemone 05-24-2010 05:43 PM

oh ya there's a few

Spec 05-24-2010 05:47 PM

Sea, generic as it sounds, you gotta check out converge.
Try architects
misery signals
devil sold his soul

see what ya think, if you don't like it worry not, there are so many ****ing metalcore bands I'm sure you'll find some haha.

Endangered Oddity 05-24-2010 05:51 PM

I think you'd really enjoy
Rosesdead-Stages

Scoot 05-24-2010 05:53 PM

Oh yeah, Misery Signals (Of Malice and the Magnum Heart) is absolutely essential.

Dimmu Burger 05-24-2010 05:54 PM

what he said

SeaAnemone 05-24-2010 05:55 PM

Converge--- yeah, I think I see why people jizz all over em, but I really don't enjoy listening to them as much as other metalcore yet (ooo I forgot to mention Throats, too, anyone else listen to them?)

and thanks guys, I'll check those out!

Dimmu Burger 05-24-2010 05:57 PM

I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis

Scoot 05-24-2010 05:59 PM

I'm admittedly not the biggest Converge fan in the world - though Dark Horse rips.

witchxrapist 05-24-2010 06:01 PM

What about songs like Homewrecker, Heaven In Her Arms, The Broken Vow, The Saddest Day, etc.?

Scoot 05-24-2010 06:03 PM

The Converge songs I have on my iPod: Dark Horse, Eagles Become Vultures, Homewrecker, Phoenix in Flight :/

I'll try some more though. Not really a fan of the vocals.

witchxrapist 05-24-2010 06:05 PM

Not even on Homewrecker?

Dimmu Burger 05-24-2010 06:06 PM

It takes a lot to enjoy those vocals. Very intense.

Endangered Oddity 05-24-2010 06:07 PM

Botch.

Scoot 05-24-2010 06:07 PM

Not really, no. I guess they just aren't my thing.

I'm a bit of a production whore, though, so that's most likely why. It's the reason why I don't like much black metal.

witchxrapist 05-24-2010 06:07 PM

Dude. Jacob's vocals on the old material are God tier.

Endangered Oddity 05-24-2010 06:09 PM
It takes a lot to enjoy those vocals. Very intense.
but when you learn to appreciate 'em they're just soooo good.

Scoot 05-24-2010 06:10 PM
but when you learn to appreciate 'em it's just soooo good.
But that's true for most bands that scream.
