Naw I'm way past that. I'm not really sure how good I am
I don't play drums with lots f peolpe. I have a great drummer in my band
and I'd about I'm half as good as He IS...But that says alot

Joe 11-02-2005 04:14 PM

I'm good with 4/4 and anything else /4 but the 8s is where i get lost. It's ok though, it's not in music books. I think I could be a good guitar teacher...

And yes, definitely Fade to Black.

fatbandit 11-02-2005 04:16 PM

Dude, it would be cool if I could tell it was you as a ninja. Can't see your ninja Gi for your hands :(

Britton 11-02-2005 04:17 PM

You don't have to know alot to teach a beginner. So I'm sure you can teach.

I'm pretty good with timimg's some solo type stuff I screw up (Lik FTB solo's)

That's not really a loud song for me...but never the less it's great

I might try some recording's next time I'm with my brother
Not really too sure, Battery is hard to get down with the speed and all, and most AJFA songs are a little difficult. Master of Puppets is a little hard if you're gunna downpick it all.
ok thanks, i love my downpick and i can downpick whole master of puppets.

next target will be battery and ktulu.:)

Downpicking all of MOP is fine, but you'll need to alternate pick Battery.

metalmilitia101 11-02-2005 05:48 PM

yeah...i would be quite amazed to see someone downpick battery at the right tempo lol

Joe 11-02-2005 06:10 PM
which is the hardest metallica song to play on guitar(rhythm) ?
No doubt Battery.
yeah...i would be quite amazed to see someone downpick battery at the right tempo lol
Me too. I can downpick Master of Puppets at proper speed until the middle soft part and then I'm pretty tired but then I'm good after that for another minute or so then I'm done.

timmySmi 11-02-2005 06:27 PM

I've being a Bassist for 6 years and know every Metallica song on bass apart from Pulling Teeth.I still find Battery a challenge to play with my band. Not just the speed but the timings and the speed aswell.

speed on battery especially for bass makes it very hard to play well

Thrash em all 11-02-2005 07:10 PM

do u no wen the next metallica album will come out

.:Thrasher:. 11-02-2005 07:12 PM
do u no wen the next metallica album will come out
Thrash em all 11-02-2005 07:31 PM

i think that RTL is one of the best albums

lightningmetal666 11-02-2005 07:36 PM

Or even just downpick triplets correctly.

I can do it but nowhere near that tempo.

Here's the real challenge:

Try to upstroke triplets at that tempo and feel very retarded.

metallicaman8 11-02-2005 07:58 PM

Hey, i'm new to this site but Metallica is by far my fav band, so i thought i'd try and get in on this chat room. Um...i used to play bass but i never really bothered to learn any metallica songs because i kinda sucked and was unable to play them. Anywho i play guitar now and can play 30 or 40 of there songs, its always been somewhat of a dream of mine to learn the solo to ride the lightning but i doubt that will ever happen although i can play the first like 10 secs of it. Another very challenging solo i think is the solo to master of puppets its no where near as hard as the RTL solo buts its still wuite difficult it took me like 2 days to learn. Any who i should shut up before i start to ramble but if wanna talk metallica especially about solos n' stuff message me

Id like to hear that. Ive been playing for 15+years and get too tired about 3/4 the way through.
You won't be downpicking Battery ever unless you got two right hands.

edit: i bet very few can actually play battery correctly up to tempo with alternate picking musch less downpicking

What's really hard to play is disposable heroes. I can barely get to the double time part before my hands start cramping up.

I can play all of pulling teeth.
all of FWTBT.
most of MOP
and Jason's best riffs.

I don't play alotta bass

Deth 11-02-2005 09:14 PM

No Metallica song is very hard to play. Battery isn't difficult either, it's a little speedy, but that's it.

The Four Horsemen is my favorite to play.

Britton 11-02-2005 09:15 PM

Battery is too hard.

dyers eve is freakin hard to.

Now yes in general Tallica is a walk in the park...comapred to lets
say MegaDeth

MRDuCran 11-02-2005 09:19 PM

Dyers Eve and Disposable Heroes are harder to get perfect. Battery really isn't that hard.

Britton 11-02-2005 09:20 PM

I've had lots of trouble with it.

Let's ask Joe he was learning it at one time.

How about it Joe?

Deth 11-02-2005 09:20 PM

Megadeth can be a bitch to play.

Although it's not really fair to compare, Megadeth was always trying to be a more technical band.

Name a song that you think is technically difficult.

metalmilitia101 11-02-2005 09:34 PM

you know, about the technicality issue, i really don't know who's on top, metallica or megadeth. most people say megadeth, but i never hear reasons. metallica's song structure is so incredibly perfect for the brunt of their songs, and there have been some deth songs that i can't listen to all the way through. i can listen to every metallica song all teh way through and not get bored of it, even sweet amber or something, i love em all.

123. I don't see Megadeth as a technical band either. Love all Tallicas songs too.

metalmilitia101 11-02-2005 09:36 PM

there we go, a kindred spirit on mx finally
