DuckinFutch8 03-05-2006 04:48 PM

I've never heard Opeth imo.

crazyguy832 03-05-2006 04:49 PM

Now that just aint fair!

Say not like them, okay, sure... but saying they SUCK!?

Now that's heresy right there!

Tyr 03-05-2006 04:52 PM

Opeth's the best!

Loyton 03-05-2006 04:53 PM
Opeth suck REALLY badly imo
In my opinion punk sucks a fat one. Opeth doesnt.

Drum Phil 03-05-2006 05:07 PM

You're entitled to your opinion.

rockindrummer 03-05-2006 05:28 PM

You know what guys, I'm fucked because I forgot what my french homework was. I'm also pretty fucked for my band tests on monday. It is on the bells which I couldn't do if my life depended on it.

Jezen 03-05-2006 05:51 PM

I have listened to alot of Opeth and it is nice until you hear the 'vocals'.

It's just to much for ya thats all, you can't hang.
Man, that sucks.

My mum got a ticket last week, for doing 77 in a 70. They round down, to allow for errors in the car speedometer.
She had to pay €16. I've seen steaks that cost more than that.

Although, my P.E. Teacher did get caught doing 115 in a 50. Needless to say, he wasn't too happy.
Yeah, it does. Thats stupid about your mom, most cops over here wouldn't even pull someone over for that. About the PE teacher, damn, that would really suck. I've done that before, but I think its pretty stupid to do that on a regular basis. What are the speeding laws over there?...I know Maryland has the dumbest ones around, only worse one is New York.

Listen to the Damnination album then if harsh vocals arent your thing. Personally, blackwater park was an AMAZING album too me. Vocals espically.

Double Bass Jim 03-05-2006 06:05 PM

His vocal range is amazing, IMO he is one of the best singers there is. Even his metal vocals are top notch they are perfect.

Trev 03-05-2006 06:10 PM

Yeah, he can sing great and then instantly change to brilliant death metal growls. Not many vocalists can do both as good as he can. His harsh vocals add to the music anyway IMO.

Double Bass Jim 03-05-2006 06:14 PM

Yeah they do, and he's still clear and powerful. All to often when you hear metal vocals like that they sound super cheap and lame. The thing with mike is he never sounds that way. You can hear him perfectly and it's really powerful and suits the sections perfectly.

The whole band is incredibly tight and it shows in there live show, everything is exact 100%

White 03-05-2006 09:20 PM

Yup, well I just got done posting a Rudiments thing in the Begginers section. yeh, I didnt do the best job in the world, but it gets the job done.

Futuro 03-05-2006 09:59 PM

I know you guys arent into the whole death metal sence, but if you want some ROCKIN stuff that has slightly higher pitched vocals, not all blastbeats, sweet **** check out ARSIS.

I recommend a Celebration of Guilt for the album. Pick it up.

Motleyguy 03-05-2006 10:02 PM

ah, I just saw Val Kilmer hanging like a puppet, suspended by large meathooks. It does the heart good to see someone who was a shitty batman hanging like that. It was in the movie Mindhunters btw, not a bad movie, but fairly predicatable.

I like Arsis. I own it. Nice guitar leads.

I always bump it in my best friends prelude, huge amp over 1000 watts, the double bass sounds soooo wicked in that, I LOVE blasting it.

Motleyguy 03-05-2006 10:25 PM

That's ****ing loud.

rockindrummer 03-05-2006 10:37 PM

ahhh I feel like ****. So much for doing those band tests tomorrow, score. I get to play drums all day instead.

Seafroggys 03-05-2006 10:41 PM

damn Oscars....Spielberg didn't win, and he's the man!

Mr. Pickle 03-05-2006 11:16 PM

i don't trust any of those awards shows anymore (especially the grammys, they are they worst bullsh*t of all) the only reason brokeback mountain got so many awards was because it was controversial. they always for for unique or controversial movies.
