EDIT: And yea Ray, it does kinda sound like that after listening to it again.

MBS 08-03-2005 04:07 PM

I'm uploading it. You're all listening to it.

He named himself after Malcolm Young, so let's not jump to conclusions :p

I'm still uploading tracks, it's such a pain with a computer as slow as mine.

Says the one who named himself after a Nas song.

Album, Nas > Malcolm Young, but I am NOT getting into this one.

It was an album. A perfect one, at that.

Hey, what do you all think of the Beach Boys?

My gf kind of likes them, and I think that they're okay (based on their version of "SMiLE").

I have a greatest hits somewhere, but I haven't listened to it in a long time. There good, but get kind of old fast. I think I'll try to find that cd.

Edit- Mr. Blue Sky is a great song. I can see why Jeff Lynne is considered a creative genius.

Boom, bitches.

Woodstock 08-03-2005 04:49 PM

That was a pretty good song. It was catchy, but it was a little cheesy.

Walrus Gumboot 08-03-2005 05:09 PM
Have you noticed how much George Harrison uses a Wah pedal on All Things Must Pass?
That's because it's really Clapton

I really like The Beach Boys. A lot of people only talk about Pet Sounds and how wonderful it is, and I'll admit it's great but I really like all of their albums. Brian Wilson presents SMiLE is pretty awesome, although I think the Beach Boys can do a better job together.

robo2448 08-03-2005 05:11 PM
That's because it's really Clapton
Yes, Clapton plays the wah on Wah-Wah, and Clapton also plays on the jam at the end of the album. Clapton + Harrison = great songs.

Glitterati 08-03-2005 05:14 PM

Yay, now I like E.L.O.!

Somebody else appreciates Badge as much as I do

They really make great music together though, Badge, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Wah-Wah, and that jam on ATMP. It would be awesome if they recorded a full album together.

Too bad Harrison's dead :upset: What a bummer.
Too bad Harrison's dead :upset: What a bummer.
Yes. And he was still in his music-making prime. From the songs I've heard, Brainwashed is an excellent album.

ATM 08-03-2005 05:53 PM

I didn't like Brainwashed at all.

thickasabrick 08-03-2005 06:08 PM

I've never heard anyone say they didn't like Brainwashed. I really haven't hear any of Harrisons solo stuff that I didn't like, but I still prefer The Beatles.

I think Harrison and Clapton went great together. They could have made one (or many) great albums together.

Badmoon 08-03-2005 06:12 PM

Yea, I really liked Brainwash.

Any Road
Pisces Fish
Devil And the Deep Blues Sea

Those are some of my favorite songs ever.

Clapton + Harrison's wife = great songs (Layla and other Assorted Love Songs, anyone?)

Amanda/Walrus Gumboot: Is your usertitle sarcastic?
Especially Badge

Wow, Mr. Blue Sky does sound like a Beatles song!

I figure the song has some obvious Beatles influence but enough original ELO ideas or lesser Beatleish stuff to make it a noticable ELO song.

Like the orchestration, the choir, and a more technical composition.

Illmatic 08-03-2005 06:20 PM

But it reeks of McCartney influence.

Badmoon 08-03-2005 06:30 PM

I said there was obvious Beatle influences.

Illmatic 08-03-2005 06:41 PM

I know. I know what you mean.

ATM 08-03-2005 06:46 PM

Has anyone got an mp3 of the new Clapton song?

That's a disappointment! I haven't heard it yet, I am hoping that I really like it.
Too bad Harrison's dead :upset: What a bummer.
I've really been getting into Harrison, and with every album, song, or thing I read about him my respect for him grows. Hes such an amazing artist. I just got the Concert for George dvd, its good but its really sad to see Clapton, you can tell playing While My Guitar Gently Wheeps is so hard for him with out Harrison there.

Illmatic 08-03-2005 06:58 PM

I really want Concert For George, on CD or DVD. I've requested it in the Other Music YSI thread.

pigonthewing82 08-03-2005 07:03 PM

I would go with the DVD (well if you can get the songs for free go do it) its much stronger to see it in my opinion. Besides if you want a cd with a lot of Harrisons hits and with appearences by people like Eric Clatpton and Ringo the Concert for Bangla Desh is the way to go.
