i think i like it so much because it was the album that got me into the Beatles and because they tried to make all Sgt. Peppers completely different from all their earlier albums, it is not all the Beatles style, and i like the way they are on this album compared to their others.

JonG 04-15-2005 09:12 PM

Abbey Road and those compilation CDs got me on the Beatles(Red and Blue ones).

ledpoisoning27 04-15-2005 09:31 PM

i recently got abbey road and i don't personaly see why people are always saying it is awesome, the first couple songs and true classics, but after that their are a lot of medicore songs with a few good ones.

I use to think the same thing.

It actually took me about a week or so to get into each song. :p

I disagree. The second half is much more creative and personally I enjoy it more, it's just plain better done than the first half. But the first half is good to, i like the albumas a whole.

Same here. The beginning is great and all, but I love how after about track five or six, it all flows together.

MYR 04-15-2005 09:44 PM

My personal favorites on Abbey Road go in chronological order.

Come Together, Something, Maxwell's, OH! Darling, Octopus's Garden, I Want You, Here Comes the Sun.

But the whole album is brilliant IMO.

Best it gets :thumb:

Great fills on that song by the way.

And he obviously doesn't know who Ginger Baker is.

Or, *looks at Avatar*, Keith Moon.

But then again, we all know he rarely did any fills

It's a great album. Except it.

ConnectiveTissue 04-15-2005 10:50 PM

The Who> The Beatles MYR, IMO at least.

ConnectiveTissue 04-15-2005 10:51 PM

Ringo Starr never had **** on Moon. Or any other drummer worth mentioning.

Ginger Baker? Isn't that Travis from BLink 182 dad.

ConnectiveTissue 04-15-2005 11:25 PM

Barker* Therefore, no:). Would be hilarious if he was, Ginger would probably disown him  :p !

ledpoisoning27 04-15-2005 11:30 PM

it was a joke toward the person who came in her saying there was no good classic rock drummers.

ConnectiveTissue 04-15-2005 11:37 PM

I reckon!

ledpoisoning27 04-15-2005 11:50 PM

Yeah, wtf is a "pinball wizard?"

ATM 04-15-2005 11:54 PM

[i]He stands like a statue,
Becomes part of the machine.
Feeling all the bumpers
Always playing clean.
He plays by intuition,
The digit counters fall.
That deaf dumb and blind kid
Sure plays a mean pin ball !

some one who is good at pinball, then somehow forms his own cult? Tommy is a very confusing story.

Badmoon 04-16-2005 08:37 AM

Woodstock: Good news! Head Hunters is certainly the best Jazz album I've heard. Tell me when you want me to send it to you.
