I'm scared to death to get in a mosh pit.
same here, my parents will never let me go to another concert if i get hurt. |
Going to shows is overrated.
|
OMFG the Atreyu mosh pit was crazy. I loved it. It was so intense, I love mosh pits.
|
 Really? They're not bad. Although hardcore shows tend to get really scary. I was pretty scared at Evergreen Terrace. xTo This Dayx (local straightedge band) was really insane too. I stayed far from the pit for that.
Pits at pop-punk shows are awesome though.
The trick is to be the dude who starts swinging a chair around his head to scare everyone away. :thumb: |

Anyone could kick my ass pretty easily. And pop punk bands rarely come around here anymore. Up Scumbag is a pretty good local pop punk band though.
same here, my parents will never let me go to another concert if i get hurt.
Yeah my parents would flip out. |

Please disregard the above statement. It is a lie. |
Please disregard the above statement. It is a lie.
You're right. I said that out of jealous angst. |
Mosh pits were good until hardcore happened.
|
Hardcore/metal shows = yes.
Mosh pits to sugarcult = :thumb:
I would kill to have been at a Minor Threat show from the looks of the dvd I have. Honestly it would have been amazing. |

The power of Christ compells you! The power of Christ COMPELLS you! |
The most pit at Blink 182 was bad, I say mosh pit, I mean entire standing area.
I had been hit over the head too many times, I became dizzy, so me and Butler went to the back where there was a little space. |
Mosh pits were good until hardcore happened.
Dancing pits > mosh pits. I'm a scenster though. I just don't wear girl pants. |
Mosh pits were good until hardcore happened.
Dance pits, mainly. Edit: lawl @ Tom sup 8's |
Dancing pits > mosh pits. I'm a scenster though.
I just don't wear girl pants.
Hardcore dancing is the worst thing to happen to music. |
You are 34.92% jealous!
For this test, the average jealousy percentage is 35.54%. 336784 people have taken this test to date. This percentage means that : •You are not a jealous person, but sometimes can be. •Occasionally, you over-react to situations. •Most of the time, you trust the people around. •Jealously will not be a major issue in relationships, but you might want to improve your self-esteem. |
I would kill to have been at a Minor Threat show from the looks of the dvd I have. Honestly it would have been amazing.
I was in the pit when Streetdogs did a cover of 'Rise Above. It was so amazing. |
Dance pits, mainly.
Edit: lawl @ Tom sup 8's
No, I mean mosh pits too. Anytime a hardcore kid goes to a show he feels obliged to punch random people in the face, regardless of the music. Last time I checked that sort of thing wasn't fun. At all. Mosh pits should be for jumping around and having a good time, not trying to fuck up everyone around you. |
HArdcore dancing just looks so stupid.
|
I keep thinking your Vince because you have the same avatar.
|
Hardcore dancing is the worst thing to happen to music.
:D You're obviously just jealous. |
Meh, these "pit" things are pretty lame.
/goes to local country club. |
Jealousy test results
That's a lie. Evidence: Emo Dan. Also, to add on to my other argument as I'm too lazy to edit...even metal was about having a good time and not about punching everyone around you. Metal is more brutal than hardcore. Fact. |

Two stepping looks cool. All other is lame though. |

I wish they'd realize it too.
I keep thinking your Vince because you have the same avatar.
I am. I usually go in unless I keep getting punched in the kidney by some dickless hardcore kid, at which point it ceases to be fun. |
*waits until a hardcore poster comes in and posts the laredo link*
|
Haha well that explains a lot.
You stereotype too much Vince.
Nay, this is from empirical evidence.
"When you go to see a live show why bother showing to see a show if you could get the same effect by sitting on the couch listening to your headphones. Your girlfriend could give you head as this happening and it would be better then a live show if you didn't do anything" - Booker
I don't see your point? So if I'm not trying to knock out everyone around me I can't be having a good time? See better shows.
Two stepping looks cool. All other is lame though.
Two stepping is the bastard little brother of skanking. |
When I go to a show, I just like to jump around and listen to the music. I don't mind mosh pits, but I hate when people punch/kick/throw elbows. I don't really like hardcore dancing either.
|
Two stepping looks cool. All other is lame though.
I don't actually even know what two stepping is. Someone explain please. |
It's this crazy video link with all the different types of hardcore dancing, it features converge on it too. Amazing video... Zeppelin your views are flawed because I don't know what live shows you go to but from Warped Tour to Bane mosh pits are contained areas and no one ever gets pushed in when they dont want to be in it. You're more likely to suffer a broken neck from a crowd surfer then get punched in the face at a show from a "hardcore dancer" |

This sums up my views as well.
I don't actually even know what two stepping is. Someone explain please.

Two stepping is the bastard little brother of skanking.
It's basically skanking without moving your hands. |
"Slam dancing, circle pits" its all a release of energy from a live show. It's so we dont all look like we're watching the Lion King on broadway jumping up and down and pointing our fingers at the stage.
|
It's basically skanking without moving your hands.
You do move your hands. And Dan, I want a link. |
I don't like crowd surfers much either. I can't stand having people falling on my head all night. It makes it so I have to be constantly looking behind me.
I've never actually crowd surfed myself, but I don't like it all the same. |
You do move your hands.
And Dan, I want a link.
I'm looking for it. It used to be "this is laredo dancing"... its sick. One fat dude in the video picks up a chair and starts swinging it around his head and everyone all of sudden backs up. |
It's basically skanking without moving your hands.
Interesting. And what is this skanking you speak of? |
