See, that's the kinda **** we need guys. Would be awesome! Whatever you contributed :)

\m/Pete\m/ 09-22-2006 12:25 AM

so out of the 4 of us that are posting in this thread what do you guys play? we should agree on a song and do it (providing we all play different instruments)

Chu 09-22-2006 12:27 AM

Guitar :)

I can also supply bass, vocal and drum tracks (Maybe not drums for a while, but yeah).

Guitar and keys but keys are a non issue here. I'd more like to do rhythm than lead. I dont like learning other artists solos.:thumb: I'm sure most of you heard the clips I posted so you can get an idea of the tone I can make.

\m/Pete\m/ 09-22-2006 12:30 AM

well hell man name a song and i'll start learning it as we speak (if i already dont know it) and then ill record it! wheee!

edit: sorry im a little high and im getting excited

MrSigma 09-22-2006 12:36 AM
wheee!

ok you can tone it down though, nub. i am :smoke: also but i dont spam the threads telling everyone. jesus christ, its in your banner too.

\m/Pete\m/ 09-22-2006 12:43 AM

nub huh? funny cause i actually dont really care, but hey if you want to be your way i'll be mine, but thanks anyways mom

Chu 09-22-2006 12:48 AM

That's excellent Pete :)

Do whatever song you want, I don't care, I'm excited for anything.

P.S. I'm high too

Edit: Don't worry about Sigma Pete, he's kinda random. One second he'll be spurting random crap, the next, he sounds like he could actually be a cool person, I dunno, he's just a random.

\m/Pete\m/ 09-22-2006 01:02 AM

haha oh im not. Im actually leaning a little more towards disposable heros now so i hope thats cool

Chu 09-22-2006 01:05 AM

Nice choice, just hope your wrist can keep up with it :)

*That's the fastest Metallica song?

Lionheart1827 09-22-2006 01:10 AM
Nice choice, just hope your wrist can keep up with it :)

Nope, Master of Puppets is, if you look BPM wise. Disposable kills the wrist, but MoP is worse. Blackened is pretty harsh, too. I'd love to do that one.

Fight Fire With Fire SOUNDS like its the fastest, but it really isnt.:thumb:

Chu 09-22-2006 01:14 AM

Sif MoP is... :amaze:

\m/Pete\m/ 09-22-2006 01:31 AM

the part about FFwF thats a killer is the riff in between the verses. Yeah man when i started out all i did was down pick...i even down pick LoG songs like Blood of the Scribe and that f'n blows

edit: i should say mostly down pick for songs like that, obviously there are parts that are physically impossible to pick that was for

Chu 09-22-2006 01:36 AM

I wish I could downpick better.

It's coming along, slowly, but meh.

I spend more time focussing on accurate alt. picking anyway :)

Playing Speak Free by Incubus atm tbh.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-22-2006 01:42 AM

Surely Dyer's Eve would be the fastest?

Lionheart1827 09-22-2006 01:42 AM

Recording Blackened atm.:thumb:

\m/Pete\m/ 09-22-2006 01:43 AM

yeah i definately downpick a lot less than i did. and ever since i got real serious about my alt i cant seem to dp as fast. I like to have it in my arsenal though, it sounds mean and looks mean.

Chu 09-22-2006 01:44 AM

Thanks heaps dude :thumb:

I know MRDuCran is going to love it :)

\m/Pete\m/ 09-22-2006 01:51 AM

ok so i am doing disposable heroes...i just started to play it and those gallops are in more of an odd pattern than i thought

Lionheart1827 09-22-2006 02:30 AM

Here's a rough shot of blackened all the way up to before the lead and solo sections.:thumb:

Chu 09-22-2006 02:48 AM

Awesome.

Nothing more needs to be said, you got the idea perfect.
Awesome.

Thanks.:thumb:

I got the drums from guitar pro 5, if anybody wanted to know.

Chu 09-22-2006 03:26 AM

Dude, that's really awesome.

How long have you been playing? I love your tone :naughty:

Hmm, this February will be 5 years, never took a lesson, dont know a lick of music theory.:thumb:

Tone = PodXT:thumb:

Chu 09-22-2006 03:38 AM

That's awesome man :)

MrSigma 09-22-2006 06:10 AM

music theory is essential. tabs are doofus.

Chu 09-22-2006 08:44 AM

I don't know any theory.

ghettoeddo 09-22-2006 08:52 AM

music theory is -not- essential, but it greatly helps.

MRDuCran 09-22-2006 09:44 AM

Wow, this thread sure has progressed alot since last night. :)

Cool recording Lionheart. I need/want a POD so badly...or at least a decent amp to mic up, listening to my rhythm tones and comparing them to these ones makes me feel like I shouldn't bother with any rhythms.

and wtf is up with MrSigma, is he trying to be annoying or what?

Jev 09-22-2006 09:54 AM

Yeah, he's trying to troll the thread.

ghettoeddo 09-22-2006 09:56 AM

fight fire with fire ladies and gentlemen.

MRDuCran 09-22-2006 11:06 AM
fight fire with fire ladies and gentlemen.
And waste another 2 pages on bullshit arguments? No thanks.

Just ignore his childish behaviour.

\m/Pete\m/ 09-22-2006 11:15 AM

good job to lionheart on the blackened recording. ill try and finish disposable heroes this weekend

adamstartin 09-22-2006 12:59 PM
fight fire with fire ladies and gentlemen.
Im guessing thats a pun haha. Anyway i was gonna do something for this, but i can no longer be arsed so i thought i'd upload a couple of backing tracks to make life easier for anyone else who wants to take part. Theres welcome home sanitarium, for whom the bell tolls and seek and destroy.

lightningmetal666 09-22-2006 01:52 PM

While I can't record, maybe I can make some good suggestions on song covers?

Possible Ideas:

Dyer's Eve
Leper Messiah
Anesthesia or Metal Militia
Ride The Lightning

Lionheart1827 09-22-2006 03:23 PM
music theory is essential. tabs are doofus.
I dont use tabs.

I prefer to learn by ear even though it may take longer.
I dont use tabs.

It seems that the only way I can learn a song is through tab.

Most of the time I just improv. solos instead of learning the tab.

Yeah, I'm not one to learn another artists solos. I kinda like to put my own spin on it, too. When I first started playing guitar, all I wanted to do was learn solos, but I hated trying to learn note for note the solos. So I just kinda improvised about 70% of the solo.:thumb:

ghettoeddo 09-22-2006 04:03 PM

lawl

i was brought up classically, which teaches you to play note by note accurately. doesn't leave much room for creativity notewise, although style and phrasing is up to you.

so i use tabs exclsuively and the rest by ear if i cant figure out rhyhtms or something

lightningmetal666 09-22-2006 04:11 PM

I learned to just improv my own sh*t after trying to learn Stevie Ray Vaughan's version of Texas Flood. There were so many damn notes to learn that I got irritated and just vowed to make up my own solos for songs from then on.
