My friend told me today that he heard that Rick Rubin might produce Metallica's new album and that 'Tallica is going to dump Bob Rock. I really hope this is true, does anyone know about this, and hopefully if it's true it isn't old news.

bob rock isn't as bad as people make him out to be. I wouldn't mined if he stayed

Yeah plus Slayer is my favorite band, so I'm kind of biased. But Rubin or Rock, I'm still anxious for Metallica's new CD.

He's produced things for several bands/artists. Most notably Slayer, System of a Down, Public Enemy and The Beastie Boys.

That's probably 99.99% false. Metallica loves Bob Rock, they really don't care if other people hate him or what. They pretty much do what they wanna do and how they want to. Plus they've been friends for like 15 years, I dont think they would just dump him. lol

I know if I had a real band, real as in signed, I wouldn't mind if Bob Rock was our producer.

well bob rock is a sell out IMO since he change drastically what metallica was in the beginning just compare pre bob rock and post bob rock albums. im not saying metallica sucks after black album because i do like some songs but they arent what they were dont forgett SA that is truly annoying IMO.

thats true they certainly have agreed to maintain bob rock, look at how proud they are from their SA album, but they should consider taken advice from their fans because honestly i think that most of the metallica fans dislike their las album.

but they don't really care what he thinks either. Metallica got tired
of making MOP's and AJFA's so they moved on as artist and as men
then they got tired of doing Black albums Load Reloads ETC so they moved
on from there. Music is not about fans music is about art and music you can't
say van goh was a sellout because he stopped making starry nights and self
portraits. if anyone sells out it's the fans

well but what is music for them if no one looks upon them they have turned into selling machines instead of artfull musicians IMO and they still are my favourite band
