Hey man Dave is cool :(

But yeah, there's no reason to troll the thread.
did you watch that? It is Lars commercial. He would want you to watch it.

"A true METALLLLLLICA FAN would watch my commercial!" -Lars
Who gives a ****? They have to make a living somehow, and selling records only gets them so much.

If you would actually read an article about the whole Napster thing, Lars didn't have a problem with people sharing music, he didn't like his album being leaked before it was released, that's all, yet for some reason, people think they know everything, don't even bother checking the facts, and just flame Lars.

Now he's not the best drummer in the world, he's not the coolest guy, in fact I'm pretty sure a lot of the people here (In this thread) despise him, but still, if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have Metallica.

Metallica has obviously spoken to you (Through their songs for instance), just as they have to a lot of the people, not only in this thread, but on this whole forum, so I think we owe Lars something, even if it is only the respect he deserves, that's enough.

Thank you :chug:

MRDuCran 09-15-2006 02:21 AM

Where are those drummers...?? :(

If only I had a drum kit here...

Jev 09-15-2006 02:33 AM

I have a drumkit... If only I could play it.

Huber 09-15-2006 02:34 AM

I think I have some free time Saturday. If I get off my lazy *** and set up my mics and stuff I'll throw down stuff for you.

I'm a busy guy though, something might get up.

Chu 09-15-2006 02:54 AM

Trying to get my brother to play metal again :smash:

For so long, he didn't have doubles, so he'd play metal with one pedal.

Then when he does get the doubles he doesn't wanna play metal.

He's getting triplets down pretty consistently these days though (With his doubles), if I could get him to record some metal.... :naughty:

lightningmetal666 09-15-2006 04:30 PM

Wow, haven't been here in a while. It's kind of amazing that this thread has 2000 pages going.

I'd love to help you guys on cover stuff, but I don't have any recording gear.
I managed to get just about all the riffs to Leper Messiah down. I attempted to learn Disposable Heroes, but I still have a long way to go.

Jev 09-16-2006 06:19 AM

Hey man, haven't seen you around in ages :smoke:

I may be able to get some bass done pretty soon hopefully.

metallicaman8 09-16-2006 08:40 AM

I don't really know anyone here, but I know 30 or 40 Metallica songs on guitar. So, I'd be willing to pitch in anytime for recordings and etc.

Chu 09-16-2006 07:58 PM

That would be awesome.

Please, to anyone who reads this, feel free to contribute with anything you want.

The more people we have involved, the better :smash:

It's not based on a list of songs we have planned, it's just record whatever you want, although we have people asking for different tracks which is cool.

If you record the bass to St. Anger for example, feel free to ask someone to record the guitar tracks.

MRDuCran 09-16-2006 08:06 PM

I think it's going to fail miserably because of the lack of drummers. You could try asking in the drum forum if anyone with skills and the desire to record Metallica drum tracks would want to take part. At least if we were given 4 drum tracks, it'd be motivation for everyone else to do something.

I can't atm because my mate took his amp back and I'm hoping he's generous enough to give it back for a while.

MrSigma 09-16-2006 08:13 PM

I know alot of Metallica songs on bass, if you still need bass tracks.

Huber 09-16-2006 08:14 PM

I'm going to go rehearse Battery. I don't have enough time to record anything today. Good news is I have nothing to do tomorrow, and I can probably record something tomorrow, bad news is I'm missing a few things to make a good sounding recording and I might end up using one mic :(

Chu 09-16-2006 08:16 PM

Please do, we need all the help we can get tbh.

The more musicians we have involved, the better.

That's cool man, I don't think anyone in this thread has professional recording equiptment, imo I don't think it matters if you use 8 mics, or just one, the recording that comes is all we need :thumb:

I have access to pro equipment.

I know alot of Metallica songs on the bass from all albums

Chu 09-16-2006 08:24 PM

That's awesome.

I think MrDuCran already posted his Enter Sandman recording, so if you could record some bass for that? :D

MrSigma 09-16-2006 08:25 PM

MrSigma 09-16-2006 08:28 PM

Oh if someone can do the guitar to my friend of misery and master of puppets.... that would be awesome. I love playing those songs on bass.

I'll record those soon. (prob a couple days when I have a chance to use the equipment)

Chu 09-16-2006 08:31 PM

I'll look into My Friend of Misery, but Master of Puppets (Just like For Whom The Bell Tolls), is too cliche, I'm not being involved. Hah.

MrSigma 09-16-2006 08:32 PM
I'll look into My Friend of Misery, but Master of Puppets (Just like For Whom The Bell Tolls), is too cliche, I'm not being involved. Hah.
lol enter sandman isn't cliche? not to mention that enter sandman is the worst song made by metallica on their first 5 albums.

Master of Puppets is a good song but w/e

metallicaman8 09-16-2006 08:33 PM

I could record some stuff on guitar. MOP for instance. I know it all the way though. Unfortunately the recording will lack quality because at such a young age I have no money for decent recording equipment. I record all my stuff using Audacity. Is that cool, or is the sound quality too poor?

Chu 09-16-2006 08:42 PM

I'm not being involved in the Enter Sandman either :p

I think it's cool you guys are playing those songs, but in 3 years of playing they are my most played songs, and I just can't stand playing them anymore.

Master of Puppets is an awesome song, but I just can't bring myself to play the whole thing anymore (I do enjoy the 'spider' riff as a warm-up but that's all I play these days...)

And who cares if we play their **** songs? We're just playing the music man!

metallicaman8, no one is going to rate your recording on the sound quality, anything we get is better then nothing.

We're all going to appreciate anything that anyone submits, no matter the quality, skill whatever, it's all going to be good ****.

MRDuCran 09-16-2006 09:05 PM

My Friend of Misery has always been one of my favourite tracks of The Black Album, it's got alot of emotion.

It is really different than the rest of the album. The best track on the black album in my opinion.

MRDuCran 09-16-2006 09:08 PM

I really like the God That Failed too.

MrSigma 09-16-2006 09:10 PM

the thing about the black album is it lacked variation like their previous 4 albums. it had cool riffs but they just repeated over and over. Now they are doing that again with st anger, exept st anger is complete ****.

MRDuCran 09-16-2006 09:18 PM

Eh, I think it's quite diverse if you compare each song. I'm not going to discuss Metallica albums though, this thread has seen far too much of that.

MrSigma 09-17-2006 12:02 AM
Eh, I think it's quite diverse if you compare each song. I'm not going to discuss Metallica albums though, this thread has seen far too much of that.
i mean each song lacked variation within itself

MrSigma 09-18-2006 11:46 AM

i think metallicas new cd will be their 5th best. their first 4 cds are locked in as their 4 best and nothing will change that. but i think this new cd will be better than anything they did with bob rock

MRDuCran 09-18-2006 01:40 PM

We'll find out what it's like when it's released.

metalhead_matt 09-18-2006 03:10 PM

theyve got a few good tracks off the later albums, but nothing compares to the early stuff, everyone knows that. at least their new song had a solo lol.
That would be awesome.
