well living near newcastle its a way to go to donnington...glasgows only 2 hours away
I might go to Glasgow, but I only have £300-400 to spend on seeing Maiden next year. And the trip to France is costing me £200+ :amaze:

ashman 12-07-2004 03:50 PM

I don't have any of his solo work, only heard Jerusalem, and that was a while ago. It seemed good.

Josh 12-07-2004 03:51 PM

GurS 12-07-2004 03:51 PM

Legacy of the beast sucks... Its not even Maiden playing in the background.. its some stupid punk band.. with a little metal inbetween, and it didnt realy impress me...

YDload 12-07-2004 06:15 PM

Wow, I have a lot of respect for you now ETT. I tried playing "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" and my fingers were howling in pain! That is some crazy shit Steve's done; his two fingers must be strong enough to bend golf clubs or something.

Also, a notice: DO NOT get ringers from the Iron Maiden forums to sign up at MX just to vote for HBTN. Their votes will be thrown out and could get the song disqualified!

hurley_j182 12-07-2004 06:18 PM

Dammit, we need one more vote for Maiden to win, and there is only 2 hours left...*intense*

Adam Jones is GOD 12-08-2004 12:31 PM

Right guys, since this is the other intelligent official band thread, I have no problem in knowing if i ask a question, it'll be answered intellignetly.

Right, I know for a fact that Iron Maiden have had at least oe single at #1 in England at Christmas, but what song/s was it and what year/s? It came up in a conversation the other day, and i remeber Bruce saying something about it at Donnington in 2003

ashman 12-08-2004 12:34 PM

I don't actually know, I thought the only No.1 was Bring you Daughter to the Slaughter, but I'll have a look and get back to you in a few minutes...

Bring your daughter will be the answer thy are seeking.

Adam Jones is GOD 12-08-2004 12:37 PM

that sounds right, I recall him saying it jsut before they played it. Last part though, what year was it though?

ashman 12-08-2004 12:39 PM

Found this though, it's quite weird
Lowest-Selling Number One
Lowest selling No.1 in total since at least 1960 is Busted's 2004 offering "Who's David" which just cleared 71,000 copies (though this may be undercut by Ja Rule et al, "Wonderful" - see below). Runner up is Kylie Minogue's "Slow" (2003) which has approximately matched the previous record set in 1991 by Iron Maiden's "Bring Your Daughter... To The Slaughter". The latter's first week sales were roughly 42,000, second week 29,000, with a further 30,000 or so in the next few weeks bringing it to a total of around 100,000.
