Can anyone recommend me any songs by The Roots, or any groups/artists that are similar?

TojesDolan 03-22-2006 11:09 PM

The seed 2.0 is the best song, at least the most recognizable one.

Check out Things fall apart (album) and then especially the song You got me with Jill Scott.

Anyone recommend me a Small Faces album. I have heard the song Ogden's Nut Gone Flake and some others but their more psychedelic stuff appeals to me more.

Although this isnt rock or metal, can anyone recommend me some Amon Tobin?

Im thinking of getting into porcupine tree, should i get In Absentia or Deadwing? Also, are they similar to pink floyd at all?

Also, what is a good Yes album to get? i think i might just get at greatest hits but im not sure.

Mr. Black 03-25-2006 05:25 PM

So I got into Slayer, by means of 'Reign In Blood'. What's the next best album?

Stoic 03-25-2006 05:28 PM

Hey I'm not usually a metal kind of guy, and my music collection has at most 4 or 5 metal albums.

Lately though I've been listening to Pelican a fair bit, so are there any other bands out there that are similar (not necessarily instrumental) that you think I'd like?

Moses 03-28-2006 11:54 PM
