The Feeding 09-04-2009 09:15 AM

I like how metal bands anymore aren't stuck on being ultrabrutal 24/7. Like BDM's new dvd just kinda shows they're just dudes like everyone else

DanContogiannis 09-04-2009 09:23 AM

Going through those videos now... awesome. I wish I had gone to Cutting Edge now too.

Less than a week till I finally see Protest again... shame it's at a giant, horrible venue (Arrow Hall).

Tyler 09-04-2009 07:56 PM

yeah im not going **** that

havent seen them live in like two years lol

duma87 09-04-2009 09:16 PM

any news on the stuff they've been writing, coke?

Tyler 09-04-2009 09:26 PM

Still don't know much but I'm told you can expect them to spread out a little more at times, sort of relax into more grooves for example. Not as balls out from rumblings I've heard.

Deep BTBAM dreamy guitar grooves?

Tyler 09-04-2009 11:09 PM

I don't know if I know what you're referring too...but no, I don't imagine them being like BTBAM grooves. Heavier grooves.

The Feeding 09-05-2009 09:48 AM

Yeah BTBAM seems to do more chill stuff anymore

Pastor of Muppets 09-06-2009 11:32 AM

Like Mastodon grooves?

Tyler 09-07-2009 09:30 PM

I guess, yeah. It's hard to say, really. It was mentioned to me when everyone was in a state of hilarious drunkenness. The point is basically that it won't be as balls-out this time, at least that's the impression I got.

Pastor of Muppets 09-07-2009 11:37 PM

killer. too bad we wont see this for like a bujillion years

DanContogiannis 09-08-2009 12:15 PM
killer. too bad we wont see this for like a bujillion years
Why do you say this? Fortress came out early 2008 and it seems like they're making some progress on a new one already.

duma87 09-08-2009 02:18 PM

Yeah, I'd take a stab and say it'll probably be out in the spring, barring any Fortress-esque delays.

Tyler 09-08-2009 02:21 PM

I'd guess summer actually.

twelvegates 09-08-2009 03:20 PM

any info on it? title or anything?

gocsa666 09-08-2009 03:31 PM

Tim said in a recent interview at Cutting Edge Music Festival that it will be released "hopefully summer or fall of next year". He also said it will be more than 10 songs this time :]

twelvegates 09-08-2009 03:36 PM

I wonder if it'll be similar to Kezia and Fortress with the 3-acts concept thing.

Tyler 09-08-2009 05:04 PM

Last I heard there weren't any definitive themes, concepts or structures set out.

Apoc 09-08-2009 06:18 PM

Well I'm looking forward to it. If Kezia was the album of demonstrating their potential, Fortress was their album of achieving it, and this upcoming album shows the band pushing forward but with some restraint and maturity, then it'll be absolutely awesome.

Based on Cocaine's comment that it won't be as 'balls-out' at least.

Dimmu Burger 09-10-2009 02:32 AM

I hope this is the case.

Meditation 09-10-2009 07:30 AM

5 days!

5 days til the dvd! =DDDDD

DanContogiannis 09-10-2009 09:10 AM

They played a new groovy bit as an intro to Blindfolds Aside last night. I'm not sure if it was part of a new song or if they were just jamming, whatever.

The show last night was alright. I can't stand Arrow Hall, but I liked the lineup. BTBAM played 3 songs in 35 minutes or so, one of which was a new song. They were awesome, but goddamn that is not enough time for them. It was great to see Protest again, but it felt like a festival. Not remotely the same as the shows they used to play here, but I think they had the best set of the night. In Flames was disappointing, but at least they played Square Nothing. Killswitch was actually pretty good, definitely more fun than In Flames. Didn't stay for their whole set, though.

DanContogiannis 09-10-2009 09:28 AM

Also... found this full set from a couple of weeks ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_iKUWtL_rM&feature=PlayList&p=21A62D8ED95E76B6&index=0&playnext=1

dang, that was what kept me listening to them. Otherwise both albums were not that great.

Tyler 09-10-2009 04:09 PM

I didn't say there wouldn't be any, just that they hadn't mentioned anything yet.

Tyler 09-14-2009 02:59 PM

twelvegates 09-14-2009 06:51 PM

what is it called again?

Tyler 09-14-2009 07:23 PM

Is that a serious question? Did you actually manage to skim over my post and yet miss the fact that the title is mentioned in the first sentence?

twelvegates 09-14-2009 07:28 PM

Sorry.

Benzilla 09-14-2009 08:04 PM

Listening to the audio now--Parts of No Stars... sound like they're playing through molasses.

EDIT: I received my copy from MerchNow, I'm going to see if it works.

EDIT2: The DVD seems to work.

DanContogiannis 09-15-2009 12:12 PM

I got the same e-mail as Cocaine. Gonna start looking for the leaked audio now.

gocsa666 09-15-2009 12:43 PM

Oh no, I just got the e-mail :( I have already listened to the leaked audio, I love it, I don't know what everybody's bitching about.. although I heard more bitching about the DVD editing.. which is.. well, there are reasons why the editing and the recording itself is amateurish, just read this interview: http://bringbacktheboombox.com/main/?p=825

DanContogiannis 09-15-2009 01:39 PM

Anyone notice the little lyrical switch-up in Limb From Limb? Heh.

James46n2 09-17-2009 12:45 PM

New interview with Tim:

twelvegates 09-17-2009 08:01 PM

anybody get the new album yet?

Tyler 09-17-2009 08:09 PM

The new album they haven't started recording yet?

Yeah I've had it for months.

twelvegates 09-17-2009 08:13 PM

I thought Gallop Meets the Earth was supposed to come out this month.

Tyler 09-17-2009 08:32 PM

That's a live album.

twelvegates 09-17-2009 08:36 PM

****. oops.

Dimmu Burger 09-22-2009 03:47 PM

I finally listened to Gallop Meets The Earth. I am deeply satisfied.
