Can someone recommend me some Darkthrone, Ive heard Transilvanian Hunger is a great album, should i get it?
Yes, get it.

The first four Darkthrone albums are all great.

Soulside Journey is their first one which is death metal, but I still recommend it.

A Blaze in the Northern Sky, Under A Funeral Moon, Transylvanian Hunger are all black metal and all highly recommended.

Some people would also recommend Panzerfaust, but check out the first four albums first.

Daven 10-16-2005 12:07 PM

Thanks man, I will check them out.

Essential, in my opinion, helloween albums along with a song sample suggestion:

Walls of Jericho (Ride the Sky)
Keeper of the Seven Keys pt 1 (I'm Alive)
Keeper of the Seven Keys pt 2 (Eagle Fly Free)
The Dark Ride (Mr Torture)

I've downloaded Letters and Heartwork by Butch; they are awesome! Just telling you so you don't try send me songs from them.

And thanks,
If you want anything I'll send it your way.

On The Edge 10-16-2005 05:35 PM
OK, good job :) Do you want more songs or do you want to mull those over first?

I'll let you know if I need anything.
Any reccomendations by him? His stuff is so awesome. Best thing you never had is an absoloutely crazy song. What address did you send it to? I have 2 and I forgot which one I posted. Was it silly_bert@Hotmail.com ?

If I was to get one Radiohead album to start out with, what should it be?

Deth 10-17-2005 07:59 PM

I would say go with OK Computer. The Bends is also a fantastic album, though it's OK Computer that's considered their masterpiece.

If you want something a bit more out-worldly, I absolutely love Kid A, but that's very different.
If I was to get one Radiohead album to start out with, what should it be?
The Bends or Hail to the Thief would be my guessing. I know most people would say OK Computer because its typicaly hailed as their best but I found it a little bit harder to like then The Bends. And Hail to the Thief I thought was their catchyiest album but not even close to best.

Bartender 10-18-2005 03:20 AM

I suppose I'll go against this trend and recommend Ok Computer as a starting album. I don't see how it's any less easy to get into than The Bends (I actually found it a lot easier, but that's beside the point) and it's far better than it.

Could someone recommend some bands similar to Emperor, Arcturus, and Soleflad? I think it would considered Symphonic Black Metal. Also, what is the best Soleflad album? Thanks

Freezing Moon 10-19-2005 03:58 PM
Could someone recommend some bands similar to Emperor, Arcturus, and Soleflad? I think it would considered Symphonic Black Metal.
Try Lunar Aurora. Especially The Elixir of Sorrow.

Also, maybe check out...
Limbonic Art
Lucifugum

That's all I can really think of now.

Static 10-19-2005 04:09 PM

Could someone recommend me many good Prog. Metal bands? I love Dream Theater and Liquid Tension Experiment.

Try some Symphony X and Opeth. Opeth isnt your normal prog though.

Static 10-19-2005 04:13 PM

Have both of those, sorry.

Bartender 10-19-2005 04:18 PM

Gordian Knot, Spastic Ink, and maybe Theory in Practice if you don't mind death vocals.

Silenius 10-19-2005 04:20 PM

^yeah Spastic Ink, but get Ink Complete if you get one because contrary to common belief on this forum it IS better than Ink Compatible.

Static 10-19-2005 04:29 PM

I'm looking for more for clean vocals, but it can be on and off like Opeth.

Bartender 10-19-2005 04:30 PM

Theory in Practice is all harsh vocals, but they're not massively deep or anything.

Static 10-19-2005 04:33 PM

I like Dark Tranquillity vocals, In Flames vocals, and Children of Bodom vocals. Are they like that?

Bartender 10-19-2005 04:34 PM

Sometimes. Slightly more rasping some other times, I'd say. I can email you yousendit links for a couple of songs, if you'd like.

Static 10-19-2005 04:45 PM

That'd be spectacular. It's georallen@yahoo.com

Bartender 10-19-2005 04:48 PM

Alright, sent.
