Ridethespiral: KEEP BUMPING!! WE MUST FIGHT THE N00BS!!
Ok I'm sold. |
Yay A Metallica thread
Although my name may say I'm a newbie I read theese forums a lot just never post.
But still I would like to make a few points 1.NE1 who says metallica lost their crown as kings of metal is wrong. In case no one has noticed Metal has changed alot over the last 20 years and each time metallica has tried to be the best. 2. St. anger - yes it's their worst album but compared to other nu-metal mush thats out their it's brilliant 3. Oh and also could ne 1 suggest sum good metallic songs to play w/my band. Were already doing One, nothing else matters and Sad but true but would like 2 do other ones. |
Fade To Black and Trapped Under Ice:)
|
Sanatarium and The Four Horsemen.
|
searching!!!!!! seek and destroy.....(starts singing)
|
My band plays these: Creeping Death, For whom the bell tolls, Master of puppets, Battery, Fade to black and Whiskey in the jar. Try some of these!
|
bump.
|
My band is most likely going to do a medley of For Whom The Bell Tolls ---> Enter Sandman ----> Fade to Black power chord verse
|
I already downloaded Apocalyptica doing Unforgiven a while back, but I searched them and found loads of the Metallica songs Cello style and have started trying to get them all. I think they're excellent!
Also, my band is caving in after weeks of me pestering them, and have decided to play Battery and the whole Master Of Puppets which is gonna be great :D 2 songs to play in your band? Creeping Death and Fuel! 1 last thing: Is anyone here going to see 'tallica live in Earls Court on the 19th of Dec, and if so, has anyone recieved their tickets for it yet? Mine still aren't here :( |
does anyone else enjoy reload as much as i do?
I do actually, Bad Seed and Better Than You are good songs |

the 2 songs u must play. Sanitarium because it is a wonderful song. and the other song you have to play is orion. i have never seen it live but i would think it would be a fantastic song to play live. the bass in orion is great too.

Accoring to my mates in England (I'm a Pom) They still have it indeed, they all saw 'em at the Leeds Festival. Plus they only played 2 songs from St Anger, which is a good thing and most the rest were ones from 1983-1991. Whiplash, Seek & Destroy, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Fade To Black, One, Blackened & Master Of Puppets were all included in the set list, so it should be a fun time. |
Earls court...sold out in like 3 days didn't it?

Phoned the Earls Court helpline and a recorded message said that tickets for Metallica are due to be sent so thats OK then
Also, I love ReLoad! I brought it in to work and we had it on repeat for ages cos its great! I also think Load is a good album, and I'm also a St Anger fan :) |
I just listened to orion the other day and I don't realy think it is as good as everyone is saying it is. There are some pretty good parts to it but not what I was expecting to hear. Still a good song though.
|
^^^The thing is I find with instrumentals is that I only start really appreciating them the most when I've given them a good listen ie 3 or 4 times. Maybe thats just me....
|
musical orgasm at that song list

rock yeah to all metallica fans....
metallica rulesz... i like all their songs.. but my favorite is "one". i like the guitar solo... |
What do you guys think of Bob Rock the producer? How has he both helped and hurt metallica since becoming their producer?
I think he's got a lot of talent when it comes to recording albums (just check out the black album, superb quality) excluding st. anger. I'm still suspicious that he may be influencing metallica to play for a mtv crowd instead of just the regular thrash crowd they used to play for. |

bob rock is an exellent producer. plays good bass too...
id like to see metallica go out on the back of a double cd best of album, one disc playing original faithful versions of two or three tracks from each album. the second disc featuring acoustic arrangements of the same tracks, just as a musical excursion. 20 years is not that long to be recording. the rolling stones are pushing 40... metallica has plenty left in the tank |
yep....we must remember James only recently got out of rehab...
perhaps after tthe summer sanitarium tour they may realise everyone digs the older stuff and try write some more for the crowd. also they need to make a living of this, so there writing songs for where the monies at. |
The video for The Unamed Feeling has been released.

yeah he is a talented producer but there comes a time when you need to get rid of the yes men and get someone that will tell you that the integridy just isn't there. It happened with KISS when they whent back to bob ezrin to do the album The Elder, which sucked balls. |
ive got all the metallica albums or so i thought......ive bn a fan of metallica 4 years now but i was told that they have an album push head.....which i find hard 2 believe since if they had it i'd know abt it.......has any1 else heard oh it?????......or was this guy jst lyin to me????

What do you guys think about Metallica, instead of trying to make a new album, trying to remaster the old albums.
Ride the Lightning- Awesome album, but just sounds like **** by todays standards, production-wise Master of Puppets- Sounding better then Lightning, but could use a remastered version ...and Justice for All- Three Words... "Where's the Bass?" Those three, not only their greatest three albums, but would sound unreal with full pounding bass guitar and the double bass would be so intense |

Here here

Some guys I know went to see Metallica in London (I live in Scotland) and the tickets were around £125! I know it's Metallica but sheesh, my Maiden tickets were only £28. Though they did play the whole of RTL and MOP so it would've been a good show.

can someone suggest more songs from metallica that are decent besides
master of puppets fade to black the one enter sandman the unforgivin i know there is more, those are just the ones im familiar with Dude go out and buy every Metallica CD. Cant go wrong. They just have too many songs that will make you love them. |
I dunno guys...I have tried to like Metallica for a LONG time, but I just can't do it. I can't stand listening to any one song for more than a few seconds...
Their music is so very close to what I like, but somehow something is missing that makes me really dislike them. . . I know for a fact that part of it is Hetfield's vocals- so........uninspired I guess is the best word. They all sound the **** same. I find Max Cavalera's poor-english shouts more interesting. Funny, since I know Sepultura was so greatly influenced by Metallica. The actual musical structure itself just doesn't do it for me either. It nags at me since it is so close to what I do like... Honestly, I would much rather listen to Motorhead ("detonating the most explosive heavy metal riffs when Metallica was still dealing with acne problems in high school") or old Sepultura than (old or new) Metallica any day. I consider them to be one of the most overrated successful bands of all time. |
hmmmm, maybe. I think all Metallica's stages are in their own way exellent. Sanitarium is amazing but i think the best song is "One" i love the way it gets progresively heavyer
