white_riot 11-30-2005 01:28 PM

This guy in this thread is bashing Flux of Pink Indians. He deserves to be banned.

For some reason I get logged out whenever I try to see the Community Thread.

How much rep do you need before you get stars???

Brain Toad 12-02-2005 03:30 PM
How much rep do you need before you get stars???
1000 rep + less than 1000 posts = 3 stars
1000 rep = 1000+ plus posts = 4 stars
Mod - 5 stars

I think thats how it works.

Time 12-02-2005 07:47 PM

How do you get the rep? im a n00b

Brain Toad 12-02-2005 09:24 PM
How do you get the rep? im a n00b
Mods and users with stars give 'rep' (reputation) points to users who post well etc.

sketchyjoe 12-04-2005 05:30 PM

Open the Bill Hicks thread. If you can talk in here about bands that embody the punk spirit while not being punk in music (as often happens) and politics then you should be able to talk about Bill.

how do you see how much rep you have?

How does he 'embody' the punk spirit? All he does is make liberal social commentary, which accounts for about 25% of all the comedians. It doesn't belong in here, it belongs in The Pit or Media Center
how do you see how much rep you have?
Go to your UserCp, should be right below subscriptions, or click the Check/X button next to one of your posts.

Sorry if I'm asking stupid questions, but how exactly do you gain rep?

Brain Toad 12-04-2005 06:23 PM
Sorry if I'm asking stupid questions, but how exactly do you gain rep?
Being a good poster, helping out the forum, participating in things were user help is requested. I usually rep people who helped write blurbs for stuff or helped explain something to someone pretty well, or if they make a good funny post.

Liebensaft 12-08-2005 08:41 PM

I suggest a ban of Cohnehran for being an all-around unfriendly, and obscenely stupid, preachy member.

He's a real problem.

Oh, and for a question....Please?

RudeBoyStompin 12-08-2005 09:09 PM

I think it's kind of dumb that Coheneran got banned for defending himself in a thread started for the sole purpose of bashing him.

I admit he was kind of crossing the line in some of his posts. I assume he was at least warned about it a couple times?

AIRIC 12-08-2005 09:09 PM

It's very dumb.

Nerdcore753 12-08-2005 11:17 PM

I didn't like him too much either, but that was unfair.

Brain Toad 12-09-2005 12:33 AM

He wasn't banned for defending himself. He was banned for preaching and being an annoying little cunt in a lot of threads. I may reduce his ban, however.

I didn't make the thread to bash him. I have actually never seen the guy post that I recall. I just wanted him to have a chance to be able to defend himself instead of being bashed.

AIRIC 12-09-2005 05:46 AM

Reduce it, give him 2 weeks. He didn't break any real rules.

sketchyjoe 12-09-2005 06:02 AM

I agree.

Brain Toad 12-09-2005 09:23 AM
Reduce it, give him 2 weeks. He didn't break any real rules.
I gave him 2 (or maybe 3, I'm pretty sure it was 2)

Liebensaft 12-09-2005 10:45 AM

I suggested a one week ban before. I know he's active outside of punk, but I hadn't had a chance to see any contributions he made, whether they be good or bad. While in punk though, he argued seemingly with no end, and tried to preach his beliefs. He was just all-around annoying.

I think 2 or 3 weeks is a bit much. He didn't exactly break rules, like said before, but he was still an "annoying little squirrel".

I think the speed of MX is a problem. Is whoever owns the site possibly looking to upgrade soon?

AIRIC 12-09-2005 11:07 AM

They just did. Read the announcements.

Liebensaft 12-09-2005 11:09 AM

Awesome. I tend to skip over sticky threads. Or announcements, apparently.

AIRIC 12-09-2005 11:12 AM

They're usually pretty important. About hackers or memory usually.

Liebensaft 12-09-2005 11:34 AM

Yeah, you would think something like that would get my attention..

AIRIC 12-11-2005 11:54 AM

Triple thread.

TakeWarning 12-11-2005 11:57 AM

You may aswell close all of those straight edge threads they always end up with idiots arguing.

Drop The Baby 12-11-2005 01:52 PM

I started to quite like him, after initially disliking him.

I haven't seen this thread though
