They haven't broken up but they've as good as. The chief songwriter disappeared/killed himself and they've become a Travis cover band or something. Shame.
Have a look at this if you're interested: Manics Good review :)
Wow, that sucks about them. Travis are already bad enough, the don't need better bands covering their stuff. It's a sad day... Apparently the album opener, so there's a little bit of an intro which isn't bad, but it doesn't add anything. Just a few people saying stuff like "And the record begins with a song of rebellion." On second listen it's actually kinda neat if you listen to the whole dialogue though. The vocals are pretty unique, but not bad per se. They take some getting used to though. It's very well produced. There's a good mix, though as with most bands the bass could be picked up just a notch. The group vocals contrasting with the main singer is a very cool part, I like that. All of the riffs are pretty neat, and the instrumentalism is strong, but nothing overly catchy or technical. It doesn't draw attention, instead focusing on supporting on the singer. Usually I prefer stronger instrumental presence, but I actually do like the way they support the singer here. It's definitely a very unique band and I think I might look into them even though they don't draw attention like most of my other music. Overall the harmonies all sound good and work well, the musicianship is strong but subdued, and the flow of the song is great. 8/10 (It'd be higher if it wasn't so outside my normal likings) 30 Seconds to Mars - Attack (Alternative Rock) No Trigger - Earthtones (Pop-Punk) Nile - Annihilation of the Wicked (Death Metal) If you want more ask. |
Haha, I was gonna upload 30STM, but I opted for Bright Eyes instead. Good choice there Vince
BTW: I'm not dibbing for anyone getting that idea just because I posted in this thread |
That's why I used all pvs :)
Thanks for the offer, if I can't find enough recommendations I'll definitely be using that. |
Bah looks like I'll be using all PVs as well, which sucks because that limits the number of good songs. This is really hard to get around

bump :(
Ask for more recommendations if you want them and I'll find some. |

My friends band. I'm always raving about them, I love them. Kind of punky poppy brilliance. Awsome band Toxic Yoghurt Another one of my mates band. Really poppy, but brilliant at the same time. |
