crumb thats totally not what i picture you to look like >.<
This was what I had in mind. Make a myspace for a fake generic indie-emo-whatever band but upload crude recordings of people jacking off over 909 beats. But now there's a e-paper trail and it can be traced back to this forum so I have to kill you all.
Fake generic indie-emo-whatever bands are so 2002, I'm talking extreme avant-garde noise so wierd the kids would like it just because it's so wierd. The image of the band would be totally mysterious and there would be almost no info available, except for loose rumours about the band being japanese, the band members being hardcore mental patients and that the band won't sign to a label because they fear contact with other humans. There wouldn't be an offical website or myspace, just word of mouth and maybe fansites.

But yeah tracing is a problem.

Glitterati 09-30-2006 05:57 PM

and we're all hasidic jews

edit - too far

It's a cool idea at least. But I'm constantly impressed by the depths internuts go to bunk these kinds of these things. Like that Lonelygirl **** that was a lead-in for a movie. If people really care about something, they get obsessed and ****. It has to really be an individual effort; see: Jandek. One of us should do it and not tell the rest. And if it got any traction, it would be cool to see if it ever reached here.

And as for the picture, I'm not in it. I'm the one who took it. So technically, I'm the flash on the fire extinguisher sign.

Edit: and also, I already put up a picture of myself once.

Eliminator 09-30-2006 07:10 PM

i think i saw it in the sexiest alt/indie one or whatever

unless that wasn't you

Robert Crumb 09-30-2006 07:17 PM

That's the one. I really don't have any pics of me expect maybe like one or two others. I'm afraid it will steal my soul, so I stand behind it. Anyone wanna see more TVotR pics?

Eliminator 09-30-2006 07:27 PM

Yes. More pictures.

Robert Crumb 09-30-2006 07:52 PM

Sorting through the pile for a couple good ones I can resize and up, it'll be a minute. They played with a band called The Ohsees who were kinda neat, Beat Happening-The Monks-VU stuff, nice head bobbing rock. I thought they were going to break into a cover of "We Do Wei Du" at one point. I kinda wanted to buy a CD, but all I had was gas money.

Robert Crumb 09-30-2006 08:44 PM

Here are four, everyone but the bassist. He was hiding in the corner. I'll post a couple more later.

Edit: 9 now, good 2500th post.

Happymeal 09-30-2006 10:38 PM

That is a lot of hair.

br3ad_man 09-30-2006 10:52 PM

Awesome pictures Crumb.

Do any of you guys use Audition/Cool Edit? Is there any way to change the fact that it makes you save every track you record individually when you save an entire song? That thing pisses me off so much.

Zappa 10-01-2006 02:02 AM

Why wouldn't you want to save each track individually? It's kind of vital...

br3ad_man 10-01-2006 06:08 AM

Audacity saves them automatically so you don't have to do it yourself all at once. That's what I meant.

Zappa 10-01-2006 02:49 PM

I saw A Clockwork Orange in a theater last night. There were punks there. And big screen with good movie.

Zmev 10-01-2006 04:24 PM

Theaters that show old movies on big screens are awesome.

pixiesfanyo 10-01-2006 04:46 PM

Theaters that show Paris Hilton's sex tape on big screens are bettah.

Truth.

Robert Crumb 10-01-2006 09:16 PM

There's going to be a Pedro Almodovar fest in town at the local art house theater this month, a bunch of his old flicks played over the course of a week or something. So great. They've also re-released a lot of his stuff on DVD recently I think, too. And he's got a new one with Penelope Cruz coming out. I laugh at people who cringed at Brokeback Mountain; Bad Education would probably make them hurl all over.

Eliminator 10-01-2006 09:26 PM

there's never anything like that here

I'm supposed to be deep in solemn prayer, but I'm just sort of posting on mx while really really really really hungry.

Wanker 10-02-2006 12:19 PM

I was in my Global Issues in Communication class and my professor, an older lady in her late 50's/early 60's said that after the Sex Pistols broke up, she played a gig Public Image Limited during one of their European shows. I've never heard them before, but that's pretty damn cool.

pixiesfanyo 10-02-2006 02:58 PM

Jon are you a jew?

JonM 10-02-2006 03:22 PM
Jon are you a jew?
Yeah and not only that but a potential candidate for rabbinical school.

But when 3:00 PM on Yom Kippur rolls around, we find out who the real Children of Israel are. And evidently, I am not one of them.
