|
Anything from Deliverance or Blackwater Park is good
|
what are some good psychedelic bands
|
Piper at the Gates of Dawn era Pink Floyd
Syd Barret's solo stuff |
My favourite solo song by Syd is Here I Go.
|
Do most of Steve Vai's songs sound like "Tender Surrender"? Man, that would be some great music.
|
I need a good Soulfly cd. one from a couple years back
|

Try Primitive, very good CD. And it's pretty far back (My scope of pretty far back isn't too reliable). |
I need a good Soulfly cd. one from a couple years back
I guess their Self-Titled, but I'd try to stay away from Soulfly, and look into Sepultura instead |
Eh', ok my bad on that assumption.
I would also assume hes looking for bands like Summoning in that aspect, and also he knows of Emperor since thats his avatar heh.
No problem man, partially my fault too. :thumb: |
anyone who is into progressive should pick up Ocean Mind from Divine Regale. a great album from a band who i think fell off the face of the earth. the album is awesome. it was released in the mid-late 90's. if your into Dream Theater or Fates Warning, you'll dig this.

|
piff 80's bands suck. But I guess Whitesnake, Twisted Sister, Judas Priest (cuz I'm assuming you listen to hair metal)

Slayer, Kreator, Ozzy, Exodus, Dark Angel, etc all either formed or performed during the 80s. 80s metal > You Edit: I won't even touch the fact that you linked Priest with hair metal. |

Umm.....I think Dragonforce sounds somewhat like Maiden. |
Can somebody recommend me something simliar to Amorphis' album "Tales From the Thousand Lakes"??
Thanks |
Can somebody recommend me something simliar to Amorphis' album "Tales From the Thousand Lakes"??
Thanks
How about Privelage of Evil? |
Can someone recommend me the best NIN album to get, for someone who has only just touched on them and is looking to hear more? Thanks:)
|
the downward spiral
|
I prefer "The Fragile" myself. I have both over AIM if you want them.

I have a really slow internet connection, and don't wish to make you wait around for ages while sending. And I really rather buy the CD, but thanks for the offer :thumb: I guess I'll get The Fragile, a lot of members I respect seem to think it was a good album in the last poll. |
Ehh...I was just trying to help :)
Some people just like to get a taster of the CD before buying, but I also prefer buying the CD's. TDS and TF are both really great albums but for me TF just edges ahead slightly, but in an ideal world you should just get both :p |
Ehh...I was just trying to help :)
but in an ideal world you should just get both :p
My wallet is gonna be extremely unhappy after I move, this list of CD's just keeps getting bigger and bigger:lol: :upset: |
I noticed that as well, it doesn't how many cd's you buy...the list just gets bigger, and bigger, and bigger.......
|
I'd also put The Fragile over The Downward Spiral. The first disc of The Fragile is almost infinitely better than the second, though.
On a related matter (lists of CDs getting bigger and bigger), I'd like some recommendations for good albums from the 60s and 70s. Preferably not just "all of The Beatles/Black Sabbath/Pink Floyd/insert preferred 60s/70s band here", if you please. |
How about Privelage of Evil?
I'll look into them thanx |
Can anyone recommend me some virtuoso(sp) neo-classical? Like Ynwie for instance?
