Reccomend me something I would never ordinarily listen to. Anybody.
Massive Attack or DJ Shadow Mmm, trip-hop. If you don't like it at first, it may or may not grow on you. |
Andre: I know Andre's got the same romnaticised version of the old west like I do and loves the great american singer-songwriters like Johnson, Williams, Guthrie and Cash too so he should love Bob Dylan. Dylan was just about the biggest Woody Guthrie fan imaginable (Listen to SOng to Woody or Last Thoughts on Woody Guthrie) and starting off imitating him but soon became much, much more. He also played with Cash (Girl From North COunty, Nashville Sessions.) A Woody fan will love his folk albums Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, The Times They Are A-Changin', Another Side of Bob Dylan, and John Wesley Harding, a country fan will love Nashville Skyline and Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid, and any sort of music fan will love Highway 61 Revisited, Bringin' It All Back Home, Blonde on Blonde, Blood on the Tracks and Desire. He combines country, blues, rock and folk along with some of the best lyrics ever written. Everyone should listen to him.

Well since they're a bluegrass revivalist band you should check out some of the originals of the genre like Bill Monroe, The Dillards, The Stanley Brothers, Flatt & Scruggs and the Foggy Mountain Boys, The Kentucky Colonels etc. |
